Don't Stop Him Now, He Might Run You Over
Review of Don't Stop Me Now - Jeremy Clarkson by Andy.mack

Advantages: An interesting, readable account of some top cars
Disadvantages: Not for anyone who dislikes Clarkson

...all sorts of subjects but Don't Stop Me Now is the first of his books, purely about cars, that I have picked up and read. Of course like his other books, The World according to Clarkson 1 & 2 this isn't a book of material written specifically for this purpose. It is once again a collation of articles written for the Sunday times between June 2003 and March 2006. Having been a fan of Top Gear for a long time I've always found that Clarkson's car ...
...Clarkson's writing so appealing. You don't necessarily have to have any real interest in cars either to enjoy this book as most of the cars featured are cars that the likes of myself can only dream about driving. There are of course some cars for everyday use mixed in amongst it all with Fiat Panda's and Kia Rio's sitting alongside Lamborghini Gallardo's and Aston Martin DB9's. So while the book does contain a few cars for everyday use it is more ... Read review

The Names Have Been Changed To Protect The Guilty
Review of Diary Of A C-List Celeb - Paul Hendy by waynehorrigan

Advantages: Great parody of British celebrity life
Disadvantages: A bit predictable

...he is. 'Simon Peters: Diary of a C-list Celeb' is a comedic tale of fame, fortune, family feuds, obsession, desperation, bitterness, burning ambition, celebrity punch-ups and unrequited love. Despite being riddled with insecurities, Simon knows he has what it takes to get to the middle. The very middle. Getting there is the problem." WHAT'S IT LIKE? ------------------------ I'm not going to give any of the plot away but in places, it's very ...
...Peters. NEGATIVES ------------------- Every diary novel I've read (Adrian Mole, Bridget Jones eg) has been glaringly obvious in places. This is because - and is especially true of Henddy's work - the entries into the diaries are thoughts and questions that the reader either knows the answer to or can predict the answer. The way this diary is written virtually tells you the outcome of some of the plot in advance, which is a shame. OVERALL --------------- ... Read review

Golf Crazy
Review of Driving Myself Crazy - Jessica Maxwell by Andy

Advantages: Funny
Disadvantages: Womans perspective

Breezy and offbeat, Driving Myself Crazy is Jessica's first-person account of her golfing education--the teachers, the theories, the mistakes and misadventures, and the confidence she feels once her game begins to improve. Celebrating the sport one pro claims is 80 percent physical for beginners and 85 percent mental once you know what you're doing, Driving Myself Crazy, is an engaging and often hilarious account of one woman whose obsession carried ... That's basicly all the people and we also have the Beano Ed, Fran and a whole bunch of other staff that puts The Beano as the comic with the most characters and staff working for it. There is also ...
...to Gold then to Platinum then LIFE! Even if your aren't a kid and you like to see other people or softies get menaced then read the one, the only, The Beano! Also, if you have a kid that menaces and plays pranks a-lot (like me!) then get them reading it! It's out every Wednesday and is only 85p! What a bargin! The Dandy is The Beano's biggest enemy so just try not to read that! But, overall I would say that The Beano RULES THE WORLD! For ages 5+ ... Read review
