Review of Inconceivable - Ben Elton by atticusuk

Advantages: Funny in places and poignant
Disadvantages: Not his best work

I have read books that have long drawn out chapters, I have read books that have short punchy three page chapters, I have read books written as diaries and even a book written entirely as e-mails but this was the first book that I have read that had no chapters and hence no sign posted markers to when you could consider taking a pause from reading instead this book is basically made up of two separate journals which record the thoughts and life experiences ...
...to start a family. The story is set in London with the married couple Sam and Lucy Bell both enjoying reasonably successful careers, Sam with the BBC while Lucy works for an entertainment agency with a number of film and TV stars on their books. It was Lucy idea for both parties to maintain a secret journal to record their thoughts as secretly she hoped that it would make Sam open up with regards to his feelings as she felt him to be rather cold ... Hee Haw
Review of Crabbit Old Buggers - John K.V. Eunson by Nar

Advantages: many
Disadvantages: many

Hello and welcome to the review that should have been here. It was here but its not here now as I have taken it and put it into my private stash somewhere else. It may well appear somewhere else online and if it does it will have my name on it. Thank you to everyone, to all the people in my COT over the years who have stuck by me and who have been great influences over the reviews I have written. It is indeed a sad case that reviewers have to come ...
...sense at all when the original content should be listed and frankly because of endless problems with Ciao I no longer have the time and energy to carry on. Each time I tried, it didn't work. Each message I sent to other members, they didn't appear. Each rate I applied, it didn't show. So that's the end of it. Ty for reading. ... Read review

Rock star in drug taking surprise
Review of High Society - Ben Elton by atticusuk

Advantages: Fast paced and well structured
Disadvantages: Not as funny as some of his other work

...excess of Hollywood and in High Society he takes on the challenge of the legalisation of drugs in the UK. The story itself is told through a series of characters all of who become linked at various times through the common interest of drugs and the impact they have had on their lives. The story opens with rock superstar Tommy Hanson explaining his recent antics at the Brit Awards to his fellow group members at an AA meeting, Hanson himself who shot ...
...sort of composite of Liam Gallagher with his Manc rhetoric and Robbie Williams based upon his lifestyle and boy band credentials, in fact using characters that have a more than passing resemblance to those in real life is a feature of this book, in fact Elton covers this by mentioning the similarities himself. In Peter Paget the crusading MP whose Private Members Bill brings the issue of legalisation into the public domain you have a number of similarities ... Read review

Review of Computer Quips! - Helen Exley by LittleFeathers2

Advantages: Great stocking filler and not expensive
Disadvantages: You may pee your pants laughing lol

...trying to type on his computer keyboard at the same time lol. The book is crammed full of one liners and phrases. I would say almost anybody would just love this book. Once you start reading it you just can’t put it down. A few of them have even brought tears to my eyes. One of the reasons why I find it so funny is guess what my brother does lol yes he is a System Annalist, I think that is his full title. He is a brain box as he fixes computer programs ...
...a page on what the computer job titles means lol. Yes I think I had better hide this Christmas lol. Lol he he lol he he lol Oh back now I got side tracked their reading another page! About Women As A Hole
Review of Lesbianism Made Easy - Helen Eisenbach by zoe_page

Advantages: Funny, unusual, interesting format
Disadvantages: Not long enough

...without a how-to guide to lesbianism - something no good bookshelf is complete without. Then one day, a nice chappy with a suitably unchaste username decided to fling it up for auction on eBay, and one week later it landed in my lap. Lesson number 1: Though you may like the sound of the book when I eventually get round to telling you about it, acquiring a copy of your own may take some work and a well timed 99 pence bid. While we're at it, the UK ...
...the book. Helen, for this would appear to me to be the name she'd wish to be addressed by, starts off simply. There are a lot of misconceptions out there about the most straightforward things, so what good would a self-help manual on the subject be if it didn't first define lesbianism. And what better way to do that than with a quiz? Because you too might be a lesbian and, honestly, wouldn't you rather know now if so? With this little matter cleared ... Read review
