Advantages: No more washing up
Disadvantages: Takes up a lot of space

...We got a hygena dishwasher installed about 2 months ago as pasrt of an integrated kitchen. To be honest, i thought it was a luxury we could do without and that it would take up useful cupboard space. However I was persuaded by she who knows best ! As it was me who did the washing up I didn't put up too much resistence. The machine now does all the washing up. It gets loaded up throughout the day with breakfast, lunch and then dinner things and gets turned on at night. One problem with this is that we tend to run out of cups and cutlery by the end of the day. It seem to cope with most things thrown at it and glassware especially comes out more shiny than I have seen it in a long time. All in all I don't regret getting it now... Read review

...If you happen to need a 60cm Cooker Hood that hides behind a door panel that matches rest of your kitchen then do consider this one. It has three speeds, the first is adequate for day to day use and compared to the Hygena one which I had before is extremely quiet and the third will clear the room if some mishap happens but is as noisey as the Hygena on its first setting (the reason it got replaced). The light is good and bright and mine is grey in color with bright silver filters which goes well with stainless steel appliances, it looks better than expected and speed and lighting controls are under a plastic cover to stop them getting gunked by grease. Has two filters that can go in a dishwasher or fit in the sink, The Hygena had a huge one that only fitted in the bath ! Got mine at Applianceplanet .co.uk for £87 including delivery... Read review

Advantages: good suction when new
Disadvantages: Poor design, bearings liable to sieze

...Replacement for 15 year old Hoover which was still working but had run out of steam. Quite impressed at first but seemed to be prone to jam when picking up long fibres. Went through about 4 belts in 15 months ( had similar problems with other uprights. I liked the ease of use and it seemed to retain suction quite well even when the dust container was 3/4 full. Cleaned rollers on every occasion BUT just jammed again after 15 months and probably only about 70 - 100 sessions of domestic cleaning - smoke came out. I found the bearing had partly melted. You expect that, for the price, a lot of value engineering had been done but I believe this cleaner is unfit for purpose. Am going to get a Numatic Henry or a Sebo.... Read review
