The Hyla is relatively new to Britain but is very popular in Europe where it has been sold for the last 17 years. It is so much more than a vacuum cleaner. I use it to clean all my soft furnishings and curtains as well as my carpets and mattresses. It can also be used to clean the air - it takes about 20 minutes to completely filter the air in an average sized room. It removes even microscopic dust particles as well as a large percentage of bacterial and fungal spores, so is THE machine to buy if you suffer from asthma or allergies. It has a large range of accessories that you can buy, such as a hard floor polisher or even a window washer. Most importantly it just uses tap water as a filter, which you empty out each time you use it and therefore get rid of all the nasties - instead of storing them in your regular vacuum cleaner in the cupboard under the stairs where they can multiply to their hearts content.
When my washing machine flooded the kitchen I used the Hyla to suck up all the water, leaving the tiles completely clean and dry. I have also used it to remove an old coffee stain from my lounge carpet just by pouring on warm water and vacuuming it away with the Hyla. When a 5 litre container of water based timber preservative spilt in the boot of my hubby's car he used hot water and the Hyla to sucessfully remove the stain. It's magic.
I thought the Hyla was really expensive until I actually used it and realised that it was an investment in the health and wellbeing of my family as well as being versatile in unusual cleaning situations. Now there is no way I would go back to using any other vacuum cleaner .

Welcome to Ciao. A good first start. However even if it uses water to collect the dirt, where do you empty it without clogging the drains? I used to use our old Vax 3 in 1 as a dust cleaner with water in the tank and whilst it sucked up pretty well emptying it actually blocked our toilet so it was a no go anymore!
