Verification Mode Microboards towers support Bit-to-Bit Data Verification, ensuring a perfect burn every time. (Data Disc Only) For CD-Audio and CD-XA (Extra) a basic disc read check is performed. Track Extraction mode allows the user to create custom Audio CDs by uploading tracks from masters to the Hard Drive and then burning the compilation to CD. Image Archival permits the user to store disc images dynamically on the hard drive. Copy & Verify mode causes the duplicator to check each copy after the recording process is completed, ensuring a perfect burn on every copy. Microboards towers support virtually every format. Supported DVD Formats include DVD Video, DVD ROM, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and Dual Layer DVD. ...This DVD drive is a good little unit, and was more reasonably priced than the Pioneer 10x which looks very similar..!! I've thrown all sorts of media at this drive including many brands of CD-RW etc and it has coped with them all. DVD playback is superb, no faults i can mention. Installation was very easy. very little to do in the sense of setting it up, but this is generally the same with most DVD drives.
There is a little jerkyness on ejection of media which is more noticable on thicker DVDs but there have been no problem other than that. The new faster breed of DVDs have now come out, with no apparent use so far so hopefully it should be possible to get one of these older units cheaper, which would be well worth the money. I'll recommend this unit to anyone....

...Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium is far better that any version of windows I have used, to start at the beginning the installation is more automated and easier, making a quicker installation, although in my opinion I would not recommend an upgrade, but moreover a clean install, I would also recommend you installing Microsoft compatibility software, which can be downloaded from their website.
If there is incompatible software, its a nightmare to remove and correct, i.e. when I first installed I did a direct upgrade only to find my SATA drives (64 bit incompatibility only) and Zone Alarm Internet Security was incompatible (later editions compatible, except when running 64 bit architecture).

[INSTALLATION]
Installation is very easy, and requires the user to have a spare 4-pin large molex-style connector to provide the x800 Pro with additional power. To make this easier, a cable splitter is provided, that splits 1 molex connector into two, incase you do not have any spare connectors. Apart from that, all that is required of the user is that they plug the card into the AGP socket, press down the locking latch, and screw the card into place.
[VIDEO QUALITY]
Watching DVD's and movies with the x800 Pro is enhanced with use of hardware acceleration. DVD's and movies can make use of the video card to enhance quality and smoothness of the image to the screen.
