Hypertec Performance 64 GB

Advantages: Multi tasking, quality, fast
Disadvantages: availability, cost, has to be installed in pairs

...2002 and Rambus was to be the new gold standard in memory. My Dell 8200 had 256 mb Rimm Memory. Alas the inferior DDR memory took over the market and all those who needed Rambus upgrades were left out. The cost of upgrading the Ram is just not worth it. Dell is the worst on pricing but others are also expensive for ECC modules. As the memory has to be installed in pairs, one cannot simply add a 1gb module but 2 512mbs. I gave up and bought a new PC with DDR3 Ram memory of 1gb and added another gigabyte of Orca memory for good measure and it was still cheaper than buying a memory rimm upgrade alone. Rambus/Rimm nice idea for would be lottery winners. My advice turn your Rambus PC into a Linux back up and buy a new Computer and add Hypertec, Orca or Kingston DDR3 ram modules and have a meal out on the money left over... Read review

Advantages: Cheap, good performance, easy to install

...Bought this computer for the gf. It (along with Vista) was very easy to get up and running. Only issues have been with the operating system and the power button. The OS has run VERY well out of the box (so kudos to MS on that), but it is definetely NOT XP. The power button is easily hit if which is rather annoying. ...well when i bought my new rig 5 months ago i spent a small fortune on the graphics card so started looking for some good priced and branded ram with good timings i stumbled upon the geil ram and it looked perfect i purchased the GeIL Value Dual Channel 2 GB DDR SDRAM kit and i now run itin my new box on an asus a8r-mvp motherboard with a 3.5 64 bit chip in it. my rig is mainly used for gaming hence the need for a good graphics card and good ram this ram has performed very well in both dual and single channel mode currently i am running it in dual channel mode and combined with the rest of the pc i can run battlefiled 2 at max settings with no lag and still achieve 90 fps overall for the money you cannot go wrong with this ram the heatsinks on it look good and do work well....
