Advantages Advantages Practicality, perfect for the school run!!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Noise, comfort!!

The Hyundai Amica 1.0Si My parents love Hyundai cars mainly because they are practical and cheap. My family has previously purchased; The Hyundai Lantra 1.6 Gls, The Hyndai Amica 1.0Si and, The Hyndai Matrix 1.6Gsi The Amica, practicality as standard!! Engine? An Averaged priced amica will set you back £5,990- £6,600, a cheap car but worth it. The Amica comes with a standard 1.0 litre petrol engine which can take the Amica 15 seconds to get to 60 mph. The stats don't look very good on paper but practiality is this cars weapon; my dad is not a 'slow' driver, he liks to push cars to their limit ... more

    Advantages Advantages economic, comfortable

Disadvantages Disadvantages can be slow uphill and accelerating, noisy at speed

I bought an automatic Amica in March 2000. I wanted to have a small automatic which would also offer five doors, electric windows, power steering and air conditioning, because comfort is more important to me than speed. I test drove the Daihatsu Sirion and Nissan Micra, and my car at the time was a Fiat Uno. None of these were as pleasant to drive as the Amica. I looked at a Corsa, but after the Amica it felt claustrophobic. The prices of other makes such as Renault and Peugeot became very high once I added everything on my wish list. I was offered a very good finance deal by Hyundai, so I'm ... more

Advantages Advantages Compact but can be spacious, sporty looking

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow acceleration, no glove box

This probably wasn't the best choice for my first car but I haven't been too disappointed. Despite getting this on finance the actual repayment costs on the car haven't been too high. The cost to fill up my tank is approx £25-30 petrol. The insurance is quite high but that is most likely due to my age. I like the amica's small distinct shape and before I owned one i'd never seen one before! Now they are becoming more popular. Due to the size of the car and power steering it is easy to drive. I tend to use my car as a giant handbag so I could do with more space than it has but there is ... more

I Have recently purchased a Hyundai Amica in a fantastic Metallic Grey... I've read other previews before purchasing and completely ignored those that said it was a waste of space........space is brilliant, seating comfortable..I can actually get in and out of the car without thinking my back is going to break in half as is the case with other cars I've driven. I have driven up the Motorway and cannot understand why people say it is noisy.............mmmmm...........they must have superhuman hearing. I find it comfortable, easy driving, no problem getting up slopes, hills etc. if it was meant ... more

    Advantages Advantages Small for parking

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Everything else

Now although some may think that this could possible be a review destroying this car with no thought is wrong. I currently own a hyundai coupe (tiburon) and it is unblievable that hyundai can go from that to this. Having used this car as a courtursy car whilst may car was in for its service was shocking. The car had a mind of its own. It would not steer responsively, you would turn the wheel and then after a moment to think the car would actually realise that you did in fact want to turn! I cannot understand the use of the Gsi lettering after the cars name?! This is usually given to sport ... more
