Advantages: Reliable, competatively- priced, stylish, modern vehicle! Disadvantages: Loses value quickly. Poorly thought of by non-Hyundai owners!

I wondered what the catch was as it was very cheap for its age!
I decided to check it out anyway! I had never considered a Hyundai as I didn't know anyone who owned one and I had always bought well known brand name cars previously.
On first seeing the car I was amazed how stylish it looked. The bodywork was immaculate; solid, no rust ... ...to be common place with Hyundai at the moment! So if you like buying cars and trading or selling them after a year or so, please don't buy one as you would probably lose out financially!
Secondly, there seems to be a stigma attatched to Hyundai. I work with a lot of other people and from the minute I turned up in my new car they did nothing but take the micky out of me! To this day there are still people calling me 'Hong Kong Phooey!'As ... more
After weeks of scanning car ads I came across an advert for a Hyundai Lantra. It was 3 years old and only £2,500!
I wondered what the catch was as it was very cheap for its age! I decided to check it out anyway! I had never considered a Hyundai as I didn't know anyone who owned one and I had always bought well known brand name cars previously.
On first seeing the car I was amazed how stylish it looked. The bodywork was immaculate; solid, no rust or deteriation and a beautiful shining silver colour. What surprised me most was how modern and eye-catching the styling was!
The interior was equally as impressive. Velour seats, and full electrics including f/f sunroof! Five speed gears and a rev counter finished it off nicely! The stereo was quite basic but the sound was as good as some flashy types. I particularly like the automatic electric arial that popped up on its own when you turn the radio on and equally retracted when switched off. No more worrying about mindless vandals!
The car handled very nicely, holding the road well and keeping up with other road users. It wasn't as nippy as some other cars I have had but it goes when you need it to, if you put your foot down.
When it comes to fuel consumption its a dream come true! It costs about £30 to fill the tank and I usually do over 200 miles a week on just £20.
All in all, I'm not exaggerating when I say, after a year of owning the car I am over the moon with it! It cost me a lot less than I had thought of spending. This meant we had extra money to go away with and thoroughly enjoy our new toy!
Nothing has gone wrong with the vehicle and I would recommend this car to anyone!
Unfortunately there are a couple of downsides!
Firstly, as I stated earlier I bought a nearly new car for a very cheap price! This seems to be common place with Hyundai at the moment!
To this day there are still people calling me 'Hong Kong Phooey!'As I have a sense of humour I don't mind, but if you are shy or easily offended, don't buy one of these!
Overall, if you want a sensibly priced car, that is cheap on insurance, comfortable, economical on fuel, and will run forever, buy a Hyundai Lantra!
Don't hang about though as a lot of those who made fun of me have caught on to just how good value they are, and have gone out and bought one! Good things don't last forever.....
Advantages: GOOD LOOKING CAR FOR GETTING YOU FROM A-B. Disadvantages: CAN BE VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR.

*NICE CAR SHAME ABOUT THE PARTS*
We saved up a very long time to trade in our old Renult 21,and saw this car at a trusted and local Ford dealer. We went to see it and liked the look of it it seemed to be just ... ...moral of this saga is Hyundai is a foreign car and although ours was a little old ( but not a downright banger) most parts are specialised and have to come from Korea, and are very ,very expensive. They can also take a long time to get to Good Old Blighty. Another word or caution is that ,the parts (when they eventually arrive) if you have ordered them can't be returned and you are still liable to pay for them if they are not the right bits ,because ...

Advantages: Low Low Cost, Excellent Reliability, Good Performance, Disadvantages: little driver headroom, Basic interior, Boot space isn't the largest
My Grandfather bought this car 2nd-hand in 2000, he chose it as it was reasonably priced and quite a large car for the money, and it reminded him of a Ford Mondeo but was cheaper (he had previously been a confirmed Ford driver but had purchased a Ford Escort that let him down continually). It never gave him any trouble.
I then inherited this car from my Grandfather in summer 2002 when it was 4 1/2 years old and had 35,000 miles on the clock. I considered ... ...but thank goodness i didn't.
The car has been phenomenally reliable despite me servicing it only intermittently and do nothing more than checking the oil in between (it uses very little oil by the way). It has passed all but one MOT with only small bills (£70 or less) and on one occasion cost me about £150. It has started on every occasion and has never broken down. It has just passed another MOT despite being 11 years old and having 75,000 miles ...

Advantages: Running costs, punchy engine, holds the road well, size, good design. Disadvantages: depreciation, build quality in some areas.
My needs in buying a car were for a reliable load carrier which was economical, smart and reasonably cheap to buy, i looked at the Nissan Primera, Vauxall and Honda Estates, these all proved beyond my price range. The Nissan garage had recently taken a fairly new Lantra estate in part-exchange, which l bought for £7000, it had done 17,000 miles and was in excellent condition. I have now added 23,000 miles to the clock without any problems, and very ...

Advantages: Reliable, cheap to run, lots of room Disadvantages: body panels thin and dint easily
...The only disadvantage with the Hyundai is that the body panels dint quite easily, but we have had no problem with rust. The plastic is quite brittle so can crack, we have cracked the interior door handle, but newer models do not seam to have this problem.
In all it is a reliable good value for money car. ...

The Hyundai Amica 1.0Si
My parents love Hyundai cars mainly because they are practical and cheap. My family has previously purchased;
The HyundaiLantra1.6 Gls,
The Hyndai Amica 1.0Si and,
The Hyndai Matrix 1.6Gsi
The Amica, practicality as standard!!
Engine?
An Averaged priced amica will set you back £5,990- £6,600, a cheap car but worth it. The Amica comes with a standard 1.0 litre petrol engine which can take the Amica 15 seconds to get to 60 mph. The stats don't look very good on paper but practiality is this cars weapon; my dad is not a 'slow' driver, he liks to push cars to their limit, (on the way to Colhester via the A12 he drove the Lanta so hard the engine fell out of the bottom of the car.) I have not kown this car to fail in anyway, break down or not start (although we once recieve a tire puncture ...
Advantages: relativley cheap. very reliable. Disadvantages: re-sale value
I currently own a Hyundai Santa Fe 2.4 petrol s.u.v.
I have had this car for almost 2years. The price i paid was £16,000 and compared to other vehicles in this class, like the RAV 4, BMWX5,JEEP, and the Honda CRV. The Santa Fe more than matched the spec of these cars at a cheaper price. It also drives more like a car than a typical 4x4. The road handling is superb and the accelleration is smooth and surprisingly fast for a car of that size.
The reliability of Hyundai cars are supurb. Before purchasing the Santa Fe i owned a Lantra e1.6 GLSI estate. In 3 years i had done 95,000 miles and the only things that needed replacing was the brake pads at 70,000 miles and the clutch at 85,000 miles.
So far i've done 37,000 miles in the Santa Fe without a hitch.
On long journeys the car is a very comfortable drive with air con. as standard ...
