I have owned one of these "cars" for about 7 months, apart from its ugly styling its main floor is handling that can only be described as awful, it goes around corners like a box van!

It is scary in the wet (most likely due to either poor tyres and/or the wheels are too small), each time you need to brake slightly harder than normal in the wet, the ABS is activated to cope with the lack of grip!

The car appears to be well built and has a lot of extras including 4 electric windows, air con ABS, C/L CD/radio etc, but then you would expect this from an 11k car. I think the Pininfarina styling is a joke, it looks sort of okay in a showroom and a certain colour but when outside and looked at from a distance, forget it.

After about a month of ownership, it started making a knocking noise (sounded like a shock absorber on the way out), it went back twice to the workshop and they couldn't figure out what was causing it!

The engine is very lively for a diesel, this one being the 1.5L 4 cylinder 16v turbo version much improved from Hyundai's previous 3 pot model but on a motorway when you need to overtake the turbo lag is very long and often useless, economy is not impressive either if you drive it too hard.

Hyundai's depreciate quickly so if you are considering buying one, go for used, I bought my one new and lost about 4k in under a year and don't buy because of the 5 year warranty as when you read the small print, you'll see as each year passes, less and less of the vehicle is covered!

On the plus side, there is good headroom and the seats are quite comfy, road tax is also low thanks to its 120g C/O rating but there are much better cars out there for the money and made in countries that don't eat dogs!
