With a new arrival on the way we decides that my trendy little sports car was no longer practical and I wanted something that had a bit of size and stability to it, we could not afford a Range Rover Sport as that was well out of our price bracket and the high running costs were not attractive either however my father had a Hyundai Tucson and raves about it so I had a couple of test drives and decided that was the one for me epsecially as it comes with a five year warranty. We opted for the 2.0 CDX version. It is a five door SUV and it is a chunky little car with a high riding position and ... more

I bought a Hyundai Tucson 2 weeks ago and have found it very good value for money. I've got the 2.0 CRTD CDX version and it is packed with features. Inside, there are heated front seats, cup holders front and rear, and loads of little handy storage pockets. It even has an under-seat storage tray under the front passenger seat. The music system is an RDS/CD player. There's also a very easy to use climate control which allows you to set the inside temperature and then just concentrate on your driving. The standard equipment also includes electric tilt slide sunroof/mirrors/windows, front fog ... more

We've now had our Tucson 2.0 CDX (petrol) 4x4 for two months and we love it ! Review Updated 19 Nov ... We bought second hand but with a shortage of second hand models the choice was limited. We got very lucky with the model we found at a local dealer. This car is simply packed with extras: - heated leather seats - climate control - front fogs - electric tilt and slide sun roof - heated wing mirrors and windscreen - reversing sensors (optional extra perhaps) - CD player - Alloys - Several airbags (front, side and head height) - cruise control - 5yr Warranty ! These Korean cars are well made ... more

Advantages Advantages Great value and fantastic warranty

    Disadvantages Disadvantages a little sluggish

I've had my 2L petrol Tucson for just over a year and have had 20K miles of comfortable, trouble free motoring. Sure, it doesn't burn-up the BMW at traffic-lights, and it's not as cavernous as the rather uglier Santa Fe, - but it provides a pretty decent compromise, and got me to work in the South Wales Valleys through the recent snow and ice. The Tucson seats five in comfort, and the high seating and good visability helps stop my children get bored on long journeys. My only criticism, I could wish for just a little more power from the otherwise decent engine. The 5 year wattanty offers peace ... more

    Advantages Advantages practical and reliable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages ugly

It might not look like much but get past the Hyundai Tucson's boss-eyed headlamps and bulbous bodywork and you have a gem of a 4x4. The Tucson was launched in the UK in August 2004 and built on Hyundai's reputation for producing cut-price alternatives to the mainstream models. Although it was significantly cheaper when new than a Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR-V some dismissed the Tucson, predicting that poor residual values would mean it would end up costing more in the long run. Time has proven them wrong: the Tucson has actually held its value better than many of its competitors. Available with a ... more
