I currently own a Hyundai Santa Fe 2.4 petrol s.u.v. I have had this car for almost 2years. The price i paid was £16,000 and compared to other vehicles in this class, like the RAV 4, BMWX5,JEEP, and the Honda CRV. The Santa Fe more than matched the spec of these cars at a cheaper price.It also drives more like a car than a typical 4x4. The road handling is superb and the accelleration is smooth and surprisingly fast for a car of that size. The reliability of Hyundai cars are supurb.Before purchasing the Santa Fe i owned a Lantra e1.6 GLSI estate. In 3 years i had done 95,000 miles and the only things that needed replacing was the brake pads at 70,000 miles and the clutch at 85,000 miles. So far i've done 37,000 miles in the Santa Fe without a hitch. On long journeys the car is a very comfortable drive with air con. as standard and a removable c.d player, the petrol consumption can be quite high if you do lots of short trips, but on the motorway and longer trips it's more like a standard car.

Advantages: Cheap purchase price, low running costs, ideal in urban areas, comfortable, 5 year warranty Disadvantages: Not in the slightest prestigious, looks that aren't to everyone's taste
