I've been after a Hyundai Coupé for a few months. Ever since I saw it on the website I felt I just had to try it out. Now that I have test driven the 1.6 I really must have one.
For starters it looks sooo cool! I think it's one of the best looking sports coupes out there.

Advantages: Stylish, solid road handling, top performance for engine size Disadvantages: high insurance, small wheels as standard

For starters it looks sooo cool! I think it's one of the best looking sports coupes out there. Just look at its rippled bonnet and smooth lines, not to mention the curvy boot. And to be honest inside is just as good as the outside. The leather sports seats keep you in the optimum driving position without taking away any comfort.
The dials look great with silver background and red numbers, the big REV counter and speedometer gives it a really sporty look. The finish of the panels and buttons is stylish and has a solid build quality just like the rest of the car.
However there is one disadvantage (if you could call it as such), indicator switch is on the right hand side of the steering wheel, so the wipers are on the left, and I found that I was reaching for the wipers more often then not instead of the indicators, but it is easy to get used to.
The back seats have a lot more space then I thought they would, leg space is more then enough, headspace is a bit tight but you can fit a 5'11" person there with no problem.
To the boring bits: It has central locking, electric windows, electric sunroof, driver and passenger airbags and a spacious boot.
Now about the handling..... It's a smooth comfy ride for just driving around town and cruising down motorways, but when you get onto tight twisty country roads you can really get a feel of the car, its not just a sports car by name it is one by nature. The suspension keeps the car level through corners and allows you too feel what the car is doing underneath you. The steering is quick and responsive, it lets you feel connected to the front wheels as you turn so you know exactly how much grip you have through the corners.
The engine may only be a 1.6 but has plenty of power and thanks to a great gear ratio you get to use all that power effectively. The car that I tested was second hand for £5,995 on a 51 plate from Mazda Twickenham. The cheapest one that I found was £4,500.
At the end of the day this is a really great car (despite the small wheels, which could actually change for about £600 at Halfords nationwide) and I can't wait to get one.
Advantages: Great looking and good drive Disadvantages: no alarm and loses value quickly
...that come as standard. The hyundai coupe has some really sexy featues such as grills on the side, bucket seats and a chunky exhaust. Another thing that i would say is that the hyundai coupe is a definate value for money and the hyundai name isnt neciserrily the biggest but you may be surprised. All in all i would definetly reccommend this car and i hope you decide to go for one after this as i love my car! ...

Advantages: Sexy, alluring, sporty, cheap Disadvantages: Everyone wants to buy one
I've been wanting a Hyundai Coupe for a while, but thought they were out of my price range until I checked! I've always been an avid Golf Supporter, so was chuffed with the price.
I have a mellow - yellow one which is striking without being to bright and tacky. The curves on the bonnet are lovely, and they never cease to amaze me! The round headlights are very cute, and give it a more classy feel. Paintwork is good, and a good wax each week keeps ... ...not too much trouble if you have a slight scrape. Ariel is metal but electric and retractable, which comes up when the engine starts
It has a lot of electric features sunroof tilts and opens, and I didn't realise for ages, because you have to press the button once, and then again to fully open it. Electric windows and ariel. The doors also lock when you start the ignition, and unlock afterwards. The interior is also sexy, with bronze styling, cup ...

Advantages: Great looks, comfort, price Disadvantages: hard to get access to the back
Selected the 1.6v as a company car after test driving the F2. Unfortunately my car allowance didn't stretch that far so I ended up with the bottm of the range.
Nevethless, I've now had the car for 12 months and have put 27,000 miles on the clock with no hiccups whatsoever. The car is very comfortable and I can quite happily fit my daughter's baby seat in the rear. My main irritation is the way the seats do not return to their original position after ...

Advantages: black, sleek, sexy, lots of power, fab sunglasses holder Disadvantages: Impossible to get out of it in a glamorous manner
I saw this outside a showroom and fell in love with it. I wasn't even looking for a car, I was just driving past. It looked very black, very sleek, very sexy and very me! I call it my batmobile and I feel wonderful when I'm driving around in it. Definitely looks best in black, it can look a bit cheap in brighter colours and you don't get the full effect.
Inside it's very comfy, lots of curves and extras. Adjustable steering wheel column, sunroof, ... ...a sunglasses holder which glides down when you push it. Very posey!
It goes like the clappers too. Only problems are that it eats petrol (it's worth it!) and it is impossible to get out of it looking glamourous - it's so low that you can tend to 'fall' out. Not good for short skirt days!
I tend to swap cars after a fairly short time, but I'm holding on to this one. Emma Peel eat your heart out! ...

Advantages: Sporty, sexy, 100% reliable Disadvantages: Not a very comfortable ride
I've heard this car referred to as the "poor man's sports coupe" and I suppose that's a fair enough comment: it is a really fun, sporty car to drive but it doesn't cost anywhere near as much as anything remotely comparable. I've had mine for five years and I still get a bit of a thrill when I climb into the driver's seat. It has been extremely reliable - I have had no problems whatseover with it, other than a couple of very minor thiings like the ... ...reliable. I suppose my only criticism would be that the seats are not all that comfortable and the ride isn't as smooth as I would like - but it is a sports car, not a family sofa on wheels.
Outside, it looks very stylish and sexy, and when it's just been washed and it's nice and shiny, it really is a thing to admire. Inside, there's actually room for two adults to sit in the back (albeit not very big ones), 4 airbags, aircon, a good radio/CD player, ...

Advantages: Looks, Sportyness, Handling, Acceleration Disadvantages: Hard Ride at times, bad Paint in some cases
reasonably wide pirellis, this car hugs the road very effectively.
This is a good thing, because something has to hold on to the HorsePower coming out of this car.
It is NOT a RACE car, but thats not why I bought it, I wanted a car that is FUN to drive... And that it IS. the 116HP that the little 1.6 engine trows out is more than enough to get pulses racing.
The combination of confort, handling, Acceleration and looks makes me think that Hyundai had "me" in mind when they designed this car.
I see that the new FX model is even spicier with the V6 2.7 engine... That's going to blast into the night racing world : ) ...
I currently own a HyundaiCoupe1.6 (see the review on the Ciao site). My car recently went in for a service so I had the misfortune of a Hyundai Accent MVi as a courtesy car.
While my Coupe isn?t the most luxurious and awe-inspiring car on the road, the Accent MVi really left my feeling like I was driving an old Lada!
On the plus side the car had a fairly good acceleration up to 50 mph, however when I got the car on the M62 and started to drive at 70 mph (no more honest;-) ) the whole vehicle started to shake. My journey to Leeds was one hell of a boneshaker! Somebody definitely needs to take a look at the suspension on this model. Another side affect of this poor suspension is the horrendous noise that roars through the flimsy chassis.
The interior of the car is undeniably cheap, from the chrome effect plastic facia ...
Advantages: Gorgeous styling - the list is endless Disadvantages: The badge could be a problem but I urge you to not discount it
made the car look like it had Sue Pollard glasses, the flanks made it look like an aged Metro 64 and the wheel looked lost in the huge wheelarches. The car wasn’t bad but the styling was enough to drive anyone away and despite my Hyundai faith I thought it was a huge dissapointment. When I asked a Hyundai dealer what public response had been he gritted his teeth and lied through them saying it was very popular. But it wasn’t and soon Hyundai was lost in the mainstream market again. But they are back…
