I on the other hand only care that they get me safely from A to B and back again in some degree of comfort. I know what a mini and a lambourghini look like and must admit i'm rather partial to the latter so long as it's yellow.
We purchased this car as part exchange for a Golf GTI. It was manufactured in 2002 and had 23.500 miles on the clock.
When my husband told me he was getting another car I wasn't too fussed as I thought the Golf was fine.
That said when my husband brought this car home I was impressed. It was silver and very sporty looking and quite sexy. So I thought I would give it the once over from a passengers point of view. I don't drive. I did try it but there was too much concentration involved and as I have the concentration span of a goldfish I thought it would be safer for the population at large to remain a passenger. Anyway my husband needs me to keep him informed of what shops are having sales as we drive past as he can't take his eyes off the road so that's my job.
So back to the car I found it difficult to get in it as it's one of those low slung sporty affairs. I'm getting on a bit and found the only way to do it was just to let myself drop into it. Getting out is slightly harder but with one hand on the frame of the car and the other on the door I can manage to haul myself out. Not very graceful or ladylike but then I am never graceful or ladylike. It has nice leather seats which the grandson likes because he can swivel about on them and make splendid farty noises.
It has electric windows and air conditioning and also an electric sunroof . Apparently you don't often get air conditioning and sunroof in a car usually one or the other being the norm. I checked to see if it had the all important light up mirror in the sunvisor and yes it did and the light actually worked. The sunvisor is quite a bit bigger than usual and therefore covers more of the windsceen helping to block out the sun much better.
One thing that really won me over was the cup holder ( I am very easily pleased) now I had somewhere to put my bottle of fruitshoot instead of stuffing it down the side of the door. On the drivers side there is a sunglasses holder in the visor which pleased my husband as he collects sunglasses like I collect handbags.
I was surprised at the size of the boot. I thought with it being a sporty car it would have a tiny boot but no I can get all my shopping in it with plenty of room to spare. Although not quite as comfortable a ride as the Golf ,being able to feel the bumps in the road a bit more,it is by no means uncomfortable.
Techno Bit 2 Litre 16 Valve Engine which does on average 35 miles to the gallon on unleaded petrol Top speed 135mph Very good responsive anti locking brakes Multiple airbags Good road holding and sturdy around corners not wobbling about like jelly! Central locking Tinted electric windows Electric sunroof and wing mirrors Tilt / lift steering wheel with power steering Central locking Split folding rear seats Insurance group 10 Reliable it starts every time Comes with security A Category 1 or 2 alarm as standard No major faults after a year of being in daily use no problems Spares are not really found in the scrap yard as of yet but shop around for cheaper deals rather than go to the main dealers Keeps it's good looks and still looks smart even when older (wish i did) The fuel gauge tells you how much further you can travel with the amount of fuel left in the tank The ECU which is the energy control unit learns the way you drive and adjusts the timing to suit the way you drive.
When pushed on any niggles he had with the car all he could come up with is the main beam is too bright and it is not adjustable.
What you could pay for a cheap new car you could get a top quality older car such as this. Try and go for one with leather interior as it looks smarter and is easier to clean.
The car has been used everyday for work and we have been on several long haul journeys with it with no problem. The only major work on it was when we were crashed into by a people carrier who was reversing out of a parking space as we were waiting to park up. She had obviously just used her rear view mirror and couldn't see our car as it is so low. If she had looked in the wing mirror she would have seen us. Nobody was hurt but the driver door and back panel were a write off and it cost her insurance £1.500 to put right. The garage did an excellent job and it looked as good as new.So there you have it. Seriously smart car with no major problems, reliable and, for a performance car ,fairly economical. Just in case you were wondering about the title of this review, Sylvia is what my husband calls this car he names them all bless him.
Advantages: Sporty, stlylish looking car Disadvantages: The badge
...closest. I bought my 2001 Hyundai coupé 2.0 SE about 6 months ago and am still chuffed with it.
• General Hyundai Info •
Hyundai has always been known as a value for money manufacturer, however the new coupé seems to break that tradition with the 1.6 priced at £15000 and the 2.7 V6 beast at £19500!! You can get a good deal though on a 2nd hand coupé, I picked mine up for £8500 with 33,000 on the clock I'd say it's an ideal time to buy one. Unfortunately ... ...on the front and back. Hyundai is the first (and as far as I know the only) car manufacturer to provide 5 years warranty on their cars, which I think was started in the middle of '03
• Exterior Style & Looks •
The thing I like best about the car is the styling, it's so unique I loved it as soon as I saw it. The way the curves go down the panels of the car is a thing of beauty and I think separates it from any other coupé in the market. The alloys ...

Advantages: looks fantastic, fast Disadvantages: loses value, faults
I thought I'd write this opinion so that people could read a woman's perspective on the car. The car in question is the special edition of the coupe the f2 evolution 2.0i. The car is my boyfriends and lives up to most mens dreams it is fast, sporty, comands respect and attracts the ladies-well it helped with me anyway. The interior in the evolution is leather with extras such as a chrome gearstick and door foot plates. The paintwork is metallic and ... ...is definately fast and handles well. It has air conditioning, a sunroof and imobiliser and alarm system. So far sounds good doesn't it. Well now I will tell you the problems to be aware of. The car is less than 2 years old but there has been problems the foot plates were rusting and had to be replaced at the last service-although most packages do this free for the 1st 3 years. The metallic paint has also chipped in a number of places and although ...

HYUNDAI COUPE 2002
I know what your saying. The Coupe is out at the moment. But this model is all new and ready to reach our shores next year. So I will rate this car as well as I can but you’ll have to bear in mind that I can’t drive the car. Don’t discount me yet though because I am a car anorak and I can talk about the next best thing…
HISTORY
The original Hyundai Coupe stormed onto a tiny small ... ...some very lacklustre offerings from Hyundai – the Sonata and Accent – the Coupe came as a huge shock and wowed car journalists all over the world and was soon getting the tag, as stylish as a Ferrari for under 15k. And it was true. The California design house had done a fantastic job in making the car stand out from the crowd. Of course it was cheap and it didn’t drive too badly although the Puma soon sorted the Korean out when ...

Advantages: good looks, great performance, good value for money Disadvantages: On a slightly negative note, the car is prone to rattles due to the low profile tyres but it's easy to ignore the odd rattle as you notice yet another person eyeing up your car......!
If you are looking for a car which moves, is good looking and a little bit different to the rest of the crowd but don't want to spend a fortune, then this is the car for you! Or at least it is for me which is why I bought a brand new one 6 months ago! I first noticed one zooming past me on the motorway and had to take one out for a test drive!
It's a fun car but has all the gadgets you could possibly need; central locking, power steering, electric ... ...1 security system (alarm/immobiliser) etc etc. It even has a place to store your sun glasses above the rear view mirror as well as two cup holders; perfect for a MacDonalds milkshake...! I particularly like the fact that it has a sun roof as well as having airconditioning so you can go for some natural breeze instead.
It accelerates quickly and moves like a dream. And it holds the road well.
The bucket shaped seats are particularly comfy, especially ...

...ravishing 2.0SE version of the Hyundai Coupe as I have JUST acquired my very own! I undertook lengthy Test Drives of several Cars before I narrowed my choice down to the Hyundai Coupe and the Toyota Celica.
Both cars are very good to look at but I honestly believe the Hyundai just edges it. The Celica is probably more suited to 'Boy Racers' or Women.
The new Hyundai has been beefed up and now looks far more masculine and aggressive. In Europe it ... ...pleasing aspect about the new Hyundai is the handling and general feel-good factor it gives the Driver. Fuel economy is good on the 2.0 litre Model which is surely the one to go for unless you want raw power (but poor economy) in which case the 2.7 V6 may be more to your liking! The 1.6 version is slightly underpowered and doesn't handle as adroitly as the 2 litre. The leather seats that you get as Standard on the other 2 Models are missing in the ...

Advantages: Reliable (5 year transferable warranty), looks beautiful and sleek. Disadvantages: 2.0 is slightly lacking in power.
Looks
I had the facelift Coupe from new (see my other review) and in 5 years of ownership only replaced light bulbs tyres and the battery. This gave me confidence that Hyundai reliability was exceptional. The Siii does boast the same subframe and engine as the S2, but I read, quoted somewhere, that every panel is redesigned. This said, you do have to be quite eagle-eyed to see the difference at the back, although it is there. The front design, however, is what initially attracted me. I was never upset at the S2 design, but (aside from the shark gills), it never really gave you a head turn. The Siii does that.
The alloys are different enough to make people comment. They are slightly awkward to clean, thanks to their "sharp" design, but once you have cleaned then, you realise why. They are actually nice alloys ...
Advantages: Low price, good looks and a punchy engine. Disadvantages: Cheap interior, soft suspension and depreciates fast.
15 years ago Hyundai was considered a bit of a joke. Their reputation was in the toilet and it grouped together with brands like "Yugo"! Then, the CEO, Chung Mong-Koo, ordered his managers to make quality and reliability their number one focus when building cars.
Today, Hyundai is winning awards for its reliability and is affectionately known as a "poor man's Toyota". They have announced plans to expand and become one of the 5 biggest car makers in the world. If they achieve this target, then, this will put them in the league of Ford, General Motors and Toyota. So Hyundai are aiming high! So Hyundai need some good cars on the market to achieve this ambition.
The HyundaiCoupe is a sports coupe. It's in a market segement which is full of choice. Its main competitors are the Honda S-2000 and the Porsche Boxster. The HyundaiCoupe ...
Advantages: sleek/stylish/ sexy design, reliability, built quality, 5 year warranty Disadvantages: the Hyundai badge (yeah still...)
How about a Hyundai for a sports car?..
Being an Alfista for so many years, the idea was like a joke to me...
I remember seeing the previous incarnations of the Coupe and thinking it looked good but some parts were to flashy or too overdone for my taste, like the shark grills...
than I saw the 2007 version of Tuscani and i realized if it had an Alfa Romeo badge on it, i wouldn't be really surprised. It looked so good and stylish and sleek.
I had to decide between HyundaiCoupe and Alfa Romeo GT, and against all odds i went for Hyundai. Alfa GT is more like a businessman's coupe rather than sports coupe and the interior looked almost the same as my previous car, Alfa 147.
After a year of driving the car I had no problems at all. I even had a long journey with it last summer, never let me down.
With HyundaiCoupe or Tuscani ...
