IBM IntelliStation E Pro 6204

Advantages: Light Weight, Cheap but good, Really good battery life
Disadvantages: Strange lid, not easy to open with 1 hand, lack of usb ports

...I previously owned the HP NX 9110, 5.4 inch screen and a heavy laptop, and heavy bulky power supply unit. My next laptop as the company has changed there specs again is now a completely different make IBM. I have found with the IBM Think pad, the shape and style of the laptop has not changed much from many previous years. Forget style on this occasion though. The laptop is very light weight and has an amazing battery life. Never as good as a slim line dell for battery life, but its coming on quite good now. I am getting at least 2 hours and I am a heavy user, accessing cd-rom drive, writing cdr's, network traffic all the time etc, loading apps. Advantages: Functional, Works!
Disadvantages: Nothing apart from being a CRT and being BIG

...The E74 from IBM really isn't anything special. A large, beige box with a clear, sharp display and five buttons to access the digital tuning menu to be precise. Legend has it that this model is also available in black for you aesthetes! The digital menu contains all of the functions one has come to expect, including the option to change the language in which the menus are written. Navigating between menu items is relatively simple using the arrow buttons and it should not take you too long to get the picture set up to your liking. At the rear of the unit is the power jack (standard kettle lead) and a 15 pin VGA lead fitted. There are no other inputs meaning that this is a one-PC-one-monitor setup. The picture output of the display is relatively good, but in the day of the TFT, CRT monitors such as this are falling in popularity... Read review

...I bought the thinkpad R50e new from ebay, when I was looking for a replacement laptop. Spec - Intel Celeron M 1.4Ghz, 512Mb RAM, 40Gb HDD, DVD-RW/CDRW, WIFI etc. The first thing I noticed was the build quality, the R50e is a very sturdy machine, compared to laptops I had been looking at the week before in a well known high street computer store. It feels great to use, the hinges are metal giving the impression of durability. Keyboard is very satisfying to use. The 15inch screen is clear and bright, with no problems what so ever. The Celeron M processor was clocked at 1.4Ghz, it outperformed my old P4 2.4Ghz laptop in processor benchmarking tests (using SiSoft Sandra), it also is built to be easy on the battery power. The battery seems to last around 3- 3.5 hours for normal use (web, programming, typing etc), but will run... Read review
