Advantages: Ease of use, user-friendliness, connectivity, I could go on and on!
Disadvantages: bit more expensive, sofware slightly harder to find

...I've used Macs since 1990, and ever since have had to listen to people using the old, "Well, it looks great, but...". Sorry, just doesn't wash. Intel's MHz-centric advertising should be tackled by Apple (I believe the comparison to be something like a 400MHz Mac equates to a 600MHz Intel?), but come on - if you use both systems, you will appreciate the differences when it comes to: installing software, connecting peripherals, networking, connecting to the net, troubleshooting, you name it... I have a computer-related job, but I am happy to think of Macs as the tool for people who want to get things done WITH a computer, rather than spend all day wondering what's gone wrong with their computer! ...I have had my iBook for over 6 months now, and I have never regretted the purchase. I do all my work, internet surfing and play on the thing. Apple have just recently come up with a new ibook, which sports all of these amazing features: 500 Mhz g3 Processor - Roughly equal to a 750 PIII Tiny, ice-white rugged design 12.1" XGA screen CD/CDR/DVD or CDR and DVD combo drives available option wireless networking Mirroring to Monitor or TV Firewire port - edit your digital videos Built in Networking And All this for only 1200 pounds! I know that the screen is not that large, but believe me, it is the best quality, and helps to make the'book TINY.
