The hottest ThinkPad I have ever used
Review of ThinkPad G40 2388 - C 2.5 GHz - 15" TFT by DonnEdwards

Advantages: Very hot - great if you are in a cold climate
Disadvantages: Overheats

...Pros: Nice big screen, fast processor. When you pump it up to 1GB RAM it works quite well You can put your coffee cup next to the cooling fan outlet and keep your coffee warm for hours. Great in cold climates. It's got the IBM logo on the outside. Now that I know that IBM stands for "Its a Broken Machine" I'm no longer as thrilled. I am retiring the machine as a LAMP server and have moved my Windows apps to my Acer replacement laptop. Cons: The hard drive died within a week of using it. It was replaced under warranty, but they installed the wrong OS. When the correct OS was installed, it came with free spyware. 18 months later this laptop still overheats terribly, and the IBM workshop took 4 weeks to "fix" it and there is no improvement whatsoever. It's a terrible design flaw, and totally overpriced. I am using a replacement laptop... Read review

Nice cheap computer, not so good for films/games
Review of ThinkCentre A35 8139 - Celeron D 330 2.66 GHz by yatzue

Advantages: Good Value for money, attractive design
Disadvantages: No DVD drive

...This computer look aesthetically very good in a sleek black colour with unique IBM black casing, and for most desktop applications will work very well while remaining stable. The Celeron D processor is a resonable speed giving fast loading speeds and supporting the more processor intensive applications. The main disadvantage with this machine is that it doesn't have a DVD drive as standard, although these can now be purchased for as cheap as £10.00 if you look around on the internet (www.ebuyer.com is a good one!). As far as the high power demanding games go, the Celeron processors and intel boards are quite sufficient for most of your needs when combined with a reasonable graphics card. Overall recomendation: Great computer if you are on a low budget, or looking for something to build up on and improve over time!... Read review
