Advantages: CONFIGURES IN TWO WAYS. Disadvantages: MIGHT BE COSTLY TO SOME.
:
It has IBMpower5+form factor and processor quantity of 4.
It has clock speed of 1.5ghz.
It has L3 cache of 72mb, which is the installed size.
In terms of expansion connectivity, it has 8X memory 1X processorboard of compatible slots.
So looking for a good processor brand, I think IBM is the stuff.

AMD has been on the decline after Intel introduced its core 2 Duo line of processors. It has been late on 65 nm process and they are paying for that. They had the market under total control just one year ago, but now they have lost even their loyal customers. AMD has to produce something very powerful and should be done quickly or they will even lose the small share that they has got. Coming to the processor, Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is a midrange processor ......AMD has been on the decline after Intel introduced its core 2 Duo line of processors. Advantages: Economy, reliability, comfort Disadvantages: small boot
I've owned a 1.5DCI Dynamique from new (2004) and have covered 63,000 miles. Had a couple of minor things fixed under warranty, door handle paint and steering column knock(?), despite not buying the car from a Main Dealer they honoured warranty repairs. Cheap Road Tax, Car Insurance, comfortable, lots of toys and economical. The only unusual fault was an intermittent STOP / OIL indication, which lasted a day or two - suspected wet electrics when the car was serviced by a non-Renault garage. At the time I was a bit unnerved by the complexity of the electronic systems, 7 units talking hooked up to diagnostics, but it settled down. That was 6,000 miles ago though. Interestingly the stalling of the rear wash wipe (common) is a s/w fault, in my case I didn't bother mentioning this until the STOP light problem, but it could have beenfixed ...
Product Information for "IBM POWER5 1.5 GHz processor board" »
Manufacturer's product description
Featuring single- and multithreaded execution, the POWER5 provides higher performance in the single-threaded mode at equivalent frequencies. Enhancements include dynamic resource balancing to efficiently allocate system resources to each thread, software-controlled thread prioritization, and dynamic power management to reduce power consumption without affecting performance. The POWER5 processor supports the 64-bit PowerPC architecture. A single die contains two identical processor cores, each supporting two logical threads. This architecture makes the chip appear as a four-way symmetric multiprocessor to the operating system.SMPLink is a very low latency switchless interconnect technology that allows nodes to be interconnected as flat SMPs. The actual SMPLink ports come directly off of the POWER5 chip. When connected, the SMPLinks provide a direct path between each POWER5 chip. With the introduction of SMT, more instructions execute per cycle per processor core, thus increasing the core's and the chip's total switching power.POWER5 was design to maintain both binary and structural compatibility to ensure that binaries continue executing properly and all application optimizations carry forward to newer systems.
