AMD 64 4200+ X2 AM2 (2.2GHz) processor!
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor by  dwarven87

Advantages: Dual Core, Low power usage* and Fast!
Disadvantages: Motherboards can be costly for this!

...but pentiums can be twice the price for the same spec AMD! In comparison to my old computer (old old p4 1.9Ghz with 1gb ram) this processor helps to wipe the floor with my old computer. The dual core feature means that in comparison i can listen to music, run an anti-virus scan, spyware and adware scan and play Hitman: Blood Money at the same time with very little noticeable shuddering or lag! Excellent. If my old computer attempted this bouts of freezing and poor gameplay would occur! The startup speeds of the computer are very noticeable as it takes around 40secs to boot in total (after everything has loaded up) whereas my old computer would literally take atleast 4 minutes to boot everything up - no joke! In comparison it is not the best for Gaming as some single core pentiums are but this is still damn good. Coupling this board with 1... Read review

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz processor
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz processor by  balachandran

Advantages: excellant speed for gaming
Disadvantages: not compatible to all mother boards

...AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz processor is very fast and reliable when compared to other processors which is more costly. AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz processor is very reliable when we use graphic softwares like photoshop or when we play 3D games which are very resource gulping. AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz processor will not lag or make you wait when we use large sized digital photos when downloading form digital cameras.I put this into the first computer i built. It can run vertually anything with ease. I am using windows vista x64 ultimate with it, and i have 4GB ram. recommended to anyone. AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz processor heat systrm is excellent which will not produce heat easly. The computer with AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz processor is my first computer and I am sing this computer for all my... Read review

P4 3.2GHz CPU with 512Kb Cache! Expensive but fast
Review of Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz processor by  Deru

Advantages: FAST, Retail box comes with fan, sticker, manual
Disadvantages: More expensive than Celerons, AMDs, etc

...Okay, so I bought myself a motherboard (see Asus P4C800-E Deluxe review) to build a computer but it’s not a computer without the rest of the components. One of these other components I needed was the CPU. “HUH? A C-P-What?!!!”….Well since you ask, I will tell you. CPU is an acronym for Central Processing Unit (aka: Processor). This is the computer’s brain and it plays an important role in a computer. This is where all the information ‘processed’ and where all the calculations are done. Generally, the faster the CPU, the better the performance but there are other factors to take into consideration. It usually looks like a square metal thing, with gold pins underneath but Pentium 3’s have a single connector that slots into a slot rather than use pins. The CPU I am reviewing is Intel’s Pentium 4 (P4 for short) 3.2GHz CPU. This one has... Read review
