xSeries SMP Expansion Module is an upgrade module that provides four additional CPU connectors, 32 MB of L4 system cache, 16 memory connectors to support additional 16 GB of system memory, and three SMP expansion ports. This module is installed on the xSeries 440 centerplane next to the standard module and is compatible with all models of xSeries 440. Prior to installation, the standard SMP expansion module must be fully populated with four Xeon MP processors of the same type and speed.

Advantages: Established, good value, stable, large L2 cache Disadvantages: Not the cheapest nor the best performing
...This processor, based on the highly successful Pentium III core is well established in servers - the large (up to 2mb) L2 cache allows good server performance for multiple users. It can be used in dual or quad array, and currently is available in speeds of up to 800mhz. New competitors in the field, including P4 Xeon and AMD MP Athlon 'Palomino' may be ahead in terms of performance, but currently P4 Xeons cost the earth, and P4 is doubted to be much better performers than PIII anyway. The AMDs are currently unreleased to the market, therefore leaving the PIII to take up the slack in small server markets. Its core enhances over the PII Xeon make it a more viable option, and price drops to keep the PIII competitive with AMD and P4 make it economically sensible. The PIII's stability (key feature for a server) plays an important role...

Advantages: ideal for intense computing environments Disadvantages: none
...Very good Speed and unbelieveable performance and The Dual-Core Intel Xeonprocessor 5100 series is ideal for intense computing environments, 32-bit and 64-bit business-critical applications and high-end workstation and Analysis in my mind Dual-Core Intel Xeonprocessor 5100 series-based platforms are expected to deliver up to 2.25 times the performance and 2.35 times the performance/watt of previous-generation dual-core Intel Xeonprocessors and realiable performance and I always advice my friends, visiter and colike. In my view overall good performance Easily purchase. Good Manufacture support and overall we see performance, efficiency, design very valuable. Mostly people perfer and All this report in my survey and judge 80% people perfer this and I also recommend you please purchase....
