...) connected to a modem, one via a USB (Universal Serial Bus cable that supports data transfers) and one via an Ethernet Cable (Bus cable supporting data transfers). However with the introduction of a new PC, my machine was moved to a different room, hence the requirement of a longer, Networkingcable that could support the data transfer requirements and provide flawless data transmission.
Computers that are linked up to a LAN are connected using Cat-5 Cables. Cat-5 is short for Category 5; the definition for networkcabling that consists of four twisted pairs of copper wire terminated by RJ45 Connectors (Registered Jack 45 – an 8 wire computer connector). RJ45 Connectors look very similar to the RJ11 connectors used to connect telephone equipment but they are slightly wider/ Standard Category 5 cabling supports frequencies of 100Mhz and speeds...

Advantages: It has stood up to 1 years of abuse Disadvantages: Network Cable is Boring
...Hardly exciting is it networkcable. The only thing that really intersts me about networkcable is the things that come along it at high speed to my computer.
Considering that the function of the networkcable is to get porno, arriving from the internet via my boradband router, to my computer screen as fast as possible, it is quite an important item. Most people just go for the cheapest, which is a shame considering how much is spent on an broadband connection over a year.
According to the BT engineer that came to fix my broadband 90% of the total signal loss goes in the last 100 meters. If you loose too much of your signal then this has a massive effect on the speed of your connection.
What I am saying here is that skimping on cables is really a false economy if you are paying over £200 a year for a broadband connection...

Advantages: Very versatile mid range server Disadvantages: support web site can be awkward to navigate
.... This is because the rails are a little longer than the server to accomodate the cable management bars. The 5 1/4" bay that houses the CD ROM etc slides out and rotates through 90 degrees so you don't have to put CDs in on their side. The power leds transpose to a different location as does the power switch. Once this is complete you can click on the new facia, screw on the base and lid, put your rails into your cabinet and then drop the server onto the rails. Although it has two stabalizing wheels for the back and the front of the rail hooks into the rack clips on the server, I would definately reccomend two people to do the job as you need to screw four screws into each side of the server and need to support the weight whilst you do it.
With regard to hard drives I would normally build this server with a mirrored pair of 73GB U320 15Ks for the OS...
