...I have just been bought the dell mini 10 which is a compact web book.
Now, until now I did not know a great deal to do with web books so my first thought was that it was cute and I was genuinely excited to get using it, however I noted that this product has not been reviewed so I did some research and had a look through some of what this dell has to offer and though I would offer a review on the item.
Design
Firstly I want to comment on the design of this dinky thing, the lid of mine is piano black and glossy which obviously is one of those things which you think, should I take the film off? I have left my film on as I am prone to eating whilst browsing and therefore I do not want my mini 10 to be covered in my prints within the first uses!
Whilst browsing this computer, I noted that it came in other colours, green, pink...

Advantages: Funky glowing lights Disadvantages: Cheaper "clones" are available
...I bought the Targus Ultra Mini4-Port USB Hub as I have more USB items than USB sockets on my laptop docking station.
Its compact dimensions (width 9.5 cm, depth 4 cm, height 1.5 cm, weight 40 g)and included USB connection cable allow it to fit anywhere on the desk, and its four USB 2.0 ports (480Mbps data transfer) allow rapid connection to all sorts of peripherals. Connecting USB peripherals previously connected directly prompts Windows to repeat its "Found New Hardware" business, but this takes just a few seconds.
When peripherals are connected, the plastic around...

...comfortable to use as any I’ve used before. Virtually full size it is easy to use with the right degree of sensitivity
The second negative is far more important, and may well be a deal breaker for many. The Mini9 has a paltry 8GB SSD hard drive, surely the smallest currently supplied. Given that nearly 4GB of that is taken by the XP installation and a further 1GB by necessary utilities, that doesn’t leave a lot for the user. I have managed to squeeze in a slimmed down MS Office set as well as some all important net applications (who can live without Google Earth?) but I’m left to juggle about 1.5GB of spare capacity. An internal SD card reader has alleviated data storage constraints to some degree as I have added an 8GB card (£10 from Amazon) but I’m still switching additional applications in and out in a way I haven’t done since my first PC...
