    Advantages Advantages 40GB storage, Supports various audio formats, Colour LCD screen, 12 hour battery life for audio, watch AVI movies, Includes lots of accessories

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit on the pricey side, Slow boot up, Only AVI supported, small screen, A bit chunky, movies not as smooth

    The iRiver H340 Multi-Codec Jukebox, which is basically something like an iPod but with a difference. It has built-in FM Tuner and you can watch movies on it! • • • WHY DID I BUY IT? • • • This seems to be the age of the iPods but I’m not a fan of the iPod because of the battery life and because everyone’s got one.     IRiver is an American company selling portable audio equipment (mp3 player, cd players…). I discovered them by chance a couple of years ago. It was in Switzerland. My girlfriend (at the time) was looking for a mp3 player, and the seller advised us the brand Iriver, apparently the best on the market. At the time, it was a 256MB mp3 player, with radio and voice recorder included. The little thing looked weird to be honest (like a mini electric shaver) and its price was around £150.     Advantages Advantages .ogg file support, plays video files, can be used as hard disk

    I bought the H340 around 3 months ago primarily because my flash mp3 player wasnt sufficient to carry the songs i wanted to. I thought i might as well splash out on a hard disk mp3 player and was faced with the dilema of choosing from an apple iPod or a competitor. so the choices were at that time mainly iPod, iriver or creative Zen. There were others around but these are the only decent ones. the main reasons i went for the iriver was that it seemed the better deal. It had better specs than the other two and was cheaper too.     I purchased this item a few years ago, and can honestly say, after owning another leading brand MP3 player (which I thought couldn't be match in terms of quality), this product is amazing. Far better than any other MP3 player I have owned, or listened to. The sound quality is fantastic, it is by far the most user friendly player on the market today. And as well as storing music, you are also able to store computer files,photos, and much more.     Disadvantages Disadvantages idiots will ask you why you didn't buy an Ipod. ;)

    I've tried a few mp3 players, and of the hard disk based ones, this is by far the best i've used. I had an archos FM recorder before, which was pretty decent at the time, but it was big and bulky, and the build quality was pretty bad. Not so with the iRiver. It's a monster. It's pretty small, but it's got a great 40GB space, and it feels indestructible. It's incredibly well made. It plays mp3 and Ogg and WMA, the only 3 audio formats you're likely to come across on the net, and the sound quality is fantastic.
