Advantages: Small, good looking, briliant sound quality, good storage size for a flash player, good earphones, good features, durability, battery life - the whole package! Disadvantages: none - unless you want more than 1GB (go and look for a hard disk player in that case)

It is relatively simple to use. It runs of an AA battery, which you may think is inferior to some mp3 players which have built in rechargeable batteries. However, the battery lasts around 40 hours of play time which is exceptional. Also, you do not need to worry about an in built battery breaking.
In order to get your mp3s (or asf or wma ... ...with the player. This is fairly easy to use (although mine occasionally does not recognise that I have connected the player. This normally works after a 2nd attempt though). You could also simply use windows (or another operating sytem's) method of seeing the mp3 player as an external storage device and copying/pasting files onto it. 1GB is plenty of space in my opinion - you could easily fit 10 albums on there. However, if you want, say, 20 or 40 GB you will need a hard disk player.
The earphones are made by sennheiser and are top quality, as is the sound quality. This was a birthday oresent for me, but I was assured than when my family asked at the shop which player has the best quality, they were recommended this one. Note however, that if you do not have a computer you will have far less use for this mp3 player. You could still get songs onto it by connecting the mp3 player to a CD player and pressing 'record' for example, but it would be far better (quality wise and time saving wise) to own a computer, obtain some mp3s and put them on the player.
The player has USB 2.0 capability however I am limited to connecting with the slower USB speed, due to not having a USB 2.0 computer. However, I assume this meas file transfer can be very fast. As it is for me, it is still no big hassle. To fill the player, I would allow 15-20 mins or so for file transfers (I might time this later to be more exact, but it is no longer than 30 min).
There is also n FM radio, and you can save preset stations. The quality of the radio is okay, although clearly not going to be the best due to the lack of a huge aerial!! (sp?)
Perhaps the only thing I can think of that is not great, is the quality of the in-built microphone, which is only really useful for recording a conversation as opposed to going to a concert, or wanting a very good quality recording of something.
