There is nothing that doesn't appeal about this CD-Digital audio player.

I say digital audio player, because it doesn't just play MP3's like most other CD players - due to the fact that you can upgrade the software which runs the device, it can play all the latest types of digital audio. There have been five such updates since I purchased this device, and the company promises that there are still plenty more to come.

I cannot rave about this device enough - when my last portable CD player got stolen, I wasn't very unhappy. There were so many things I didn't like about it, in a way I was kinda glad that I could get a new one. So after a month of painstaking searching, I finally came across this marvellous device from iRiver. I had never heard of the company before, but after a bit of surfing, found that people in their home country of South Korea loved their products. And I can understand why - this device had everything that I wanted. I couldn't have designed it better myself!

The only downside was that it was a brand-new product, and had a *very* premium price attached to it. But I splashed out anyway, and it has proved to be a very wise decision. I have gotten exceptional value for money out of this device, and expect to continue to for a long time to come.

The design itself is very sexy: low profile, light, a tear-drop shape, and radiant, sophisticated colours highlighted with chrome accents. The good thing is that even after travelling in my pockets all the time, the finish is in perfect condition - like the day I pulled it out of the box.

I have found the battery life to be excellent - I have read some people complain about it, but I charge it Sunday night, and it does me through my 2hrs / day commutes the whole week. The manufacturer claims to get 10hrs out of the batteries, and thats my experience.

One of my most used features on this device is the built-in FM radio. Being a traveller, I love listening to the local radio stations in the countries where I visit - it's particularly enjoyable when I don't understand the words! This great little device allows me to do just that without having to carry a radio as well as my CD player. It has also come in handy on those particularly long train journeys when the batteries have indeed run down. Even after the batteries have gotten to the point that they can't play a CD, you can still listen to the radio for at least another hour. A great little bonus to get you through the journey.

If you can't already tell, I love my IMP450. It's been one of my best investments of technology ever, and now that you can pick them up for about 1/3 of the price that I paid, you will surely love it even more!

Have a look at other reviews on here regarding players. Not enough info on the product itself, or its controls.
