The programme is presented by Claire Sweeney the girl out of brookside and who ... ...eye on the stop watch and shout at every one when the time is up. The only thing I can really say about Claire is some times she is over dressed and doesn't get her hands dirty….

The programme is presented by Claire Sweeney the girl out of brookside and who later went onto Broadway! Its claires job to keep an eye on the stop watch and shout at every one when the time is up. The only thing I can really say about Claire is some times she is over dressed and doesn't get her hands dirty….

A removal team go in before the cameras start rolling and take out all the furniture and carpets ect, the other secret is that tea breaks are an hour long!! And when they don't get it all finished what happens? Well some seem to think they leave it to the home owners to finish.. This isn't the case.
I was watching the other day and the programme was making over a house in Hemel Hempstead, a girl wanted to surprise her partner on the moving day! While he was cleaning the old house she and the 60 minute makeover team were doing up their new home. The designer of the day was john amabile ( one of my favs) they were doing so well apart from one area the fire place! They put up some suade wall paper, but as you can imagine it was a night mare to hang…
Well to cut a long story short they didn't finish it in time and a small section on one side of the fireplace was not wall papered. Claire called time on the makeover and the camera sis a sweep of the room at this point. After they went and met the women's partner who didn't look shocked or surprised at all! ( I think he knew all a long) the camera did a before and after sweep of the room! And your never guess the section had paper on the wall.. Great for them but isn't that cheating??? .

John Amabile John is one of my favourite designers on the show! His ideas are so down to earth that every one likes them! He isn't like some of the others they use, who do these wild and outrageous Designs. And when in front of the camera he is so funny and natural!
I really like this show and get some really good ideas from it for a few of my rooms much to my partners dislike! ( only because he has to do most of it) But I do have to say that some items like furniture are really expensive, but then you go for a similar but cheaper option don't you!!

This programme is possibly THE most irritating thing on the telly yet what am I doing now? I am watching it! noooo!! If only I could reach the remote to turn it over!
I used to watch this a lot about 4 years ago whilst I was at uni, it was quite exciting then and lets be honest, anything would be more thrilling than sitting through lectures on neuroscience! Now though when I watch it i find myself groaning and getting really fed up of it.
The idea ... ...over in just an hour. The designer meets the family, looks around the house and 4 rooms are then made over this involves decorating, furnishing, making things etc.
The owner then comes home, is supposedly surprised by the cameras and the team and is overjoyed by their make over.
What annoys me.. I cannot believe how many people get on this show who have a sob story. I looked on their website and the application form even has a space for you to ...

Personally I enjoy programmes like 60mm.
I love to see the outcome or the house and the joy the people see whan they are surprised with the makeover.
The show is well edited and gives a lot of detail of what is going on and the things they are doing. Its also a great show because you can see what can be made out of an awkward or un used space.
I do how ever have one negative. The quality of the work. I completly understand the work is done in ... ...wall where the wallpaper is bumpy or not lined up properly. Personally if that was me I would be extremly greatful for the makeover but then to have the hastle of sorting out dodgy painting or wrong wallpaper would take the edge of it slightly. I give this show 8/10 ...

Advantages: Learn good design tips, entertaining to watch Disadvantages: Fast-paced, might make YOU feel slightly panicky!
60 Minute Makeover IS similar to all the other standard design programs out there, but with an exciting twist - as suggested in the title, they only have 60 minutes to makeover a few rooms to give them a fresh look. It's an exciting, fun to watch programme, and I never thought a regular old design program could have me on the edge of my seat, but at times it does, as you wait to see if they can accomplish their tasks. Though it might leave you feeling ... ...for me!
The main target in their 'uplift' of the rooms is to make the rooms look modern, and they really do come up with some great, inspirational ideas to do that. There's the odd dodgy thing here and there, and some of the things they do could go out of fashion very quickly, but I personally have learned some wonderful colour combinations, some wonderful layouts etc and also garden tips, and I'm sure others have.
