Advantages: Fantastic format, lots of innuendo, great presenter (Les Dennis).
Disadvantages: None

The X Factor is a glorified talent show, whereby wannabe singers compete in various different heats around the country. Der-Dah ... Der-Dah ... Der-Dah De-De-Der-Dah ...

Advantages: Everyone wants their 5 minutes of fame!
Disadvantages: Getting there (although you get travel allowance)
