    Advantages Advantages Nice to reminise year's top music

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Always Westlife?

    Last night's Record of the Year could have been compared to the football premiership, i.e. instead of Mancester United leading the rest of the bunch, Westlife could have been predicted to win. When I first realised the show was on, I asked my partner which songs Westlife had in. Maybe I am just too old for it all? A sore loser? I don't know. I just think same old same old when I hear each new Westlife song and thought, on the other hand, that Spiller's song "Groovejet" was far more original and worthy, as were "Reach" by S Club 7 and "Rock DJ" by Robbie Williams.     It is so sickening to watch this programme - especially the second part, where you see the manufactured pop groups climb further and further away from the rest of the pack, as at every stage you hear pre-teen girls screaming for Ronan and Westlife. The real talent in the music industry comes from mostly American acts like Green Day. We have Oasis, Stereophonics and the likes, but they don't get recognised due to the sheer number of "teeny-boppers."
