I would just like to write a review on this book, it being called 'I before E, except after C'. The book is something that attempts to look back at what we all learnt whilst being at school, in terms of learning how to remember different things.

Written by Judy Parkinson who has actually in fact written a number of books in a similar nature, its cover prpice is £9.99 availabe from any good book shop (although it can no doubt be purchased ...
...- the majority of it, I have never heard of! The book is all about those mnemonics that you learn whilst being at school in order to remember things, but the majority of them I either never knew and that or I learnt something else in order to remember those things!

Written by Judy Parkinson who has actually in fact written a number of books in a similar nature, its cover prpice is £9.99 availabe from any good book shop (although it can no doubt be purchased from any other good internet site - no doubt, for a lot cheaper!). The ISBN number fo those of you who need it, is 978-1-84317-249-9.

But anyway, back to the actual book in question! In my own opinion, although it claims to remind you of the old school ways of rememberiing things - the majority of it, I have never heard of! The book is all about those mnemonics that you learn whilst being at school in order to remember things, but the majority of them I either never knew and that or I learnt something else in order to remember those things!

This book takes in to account anything from spelling to seasons; maths to memory tests, and history to Havanna. But as already noted, in my opinion a lot of the items contained I never knew existed. I admit that this could be my own ignorance, but even so the only things that it contains to which I have heard of are the following:

1. Remember, remember the fifth of November etc...
2. Thirty days hath September, etc.

And so in my own opinion, should you wish to be bored out of your mind along with being sent off to sleep quickly, then read this book - if not then, do not bother!
