PaulMcKenna is a hypnotherapist that has become a household name by personally helping celebrities to quit smoking, lose weight etc, releasing self help books and CDs and hosting a hypnosis show, that was aired on a Saturday night, that ridiculed some audience members by hypnotising them and making them do stupid things.
I have never been hypnotised and am sceptical about whether it works. Whilst watching the PaulMcKenna show years ago I often wondered whether the audience were actually hypnotised or whether they were ?plants?. In addition, of those people I know that have been hypnotised (and there are only two of them) it did not work, so I did not hold out too much hope for this book and CD combo. That said I had heard a lot about and was very intrigued to see how it actually worked.

myself starting to over eat I just read the book again to remind myself of the ideas in it. There is also a handy list in the book, it is a hunger scale.

He says that before you eat anything, ask yourself to rate how hungry you feel, and you should only eat when you are at number 3 or 4. Sounds simple doesnt it, but it worked for me. It probably wont work for everyone, my husband thinks that hypnotism is a load of rubbish, he tried to give up smoking and saw various hypnotists and they didnt work because he didnt want to believe in it.
PaulMcKenna also says that when eating you should really eat slowly, think about how the food tastes, enjoy every mouthful, again this makes sense ...

So it has always been difficult for me to stop one particular kind of food, whether it be bread and carbs (atkins) or fats and mayo (rosemary conley)
So what is it exactly that Paul wants to tell us, which will make such a big difference that you may eat anything you like and still lose weight!?
Basically, PaulMcKenna used to be a DJ and he was very good with people, although he had a very open and frank sense of humour. One day he came across hypnotherapy, got interested and that's when he came to his true calling.
He has been designing this "system" as he calls it, because it certainly is NOT a diet, for many years, roughly 13 years if I recall correctly.
He has been studying the behaviour, eating habits and exercising habits of "naturally thin people" for years and monitoring how they work.
