I suspect these were the predecessors to these big fizzy bath-bombs that have been so trendy for the past few years - essentially bath salts with class. I am lucky enough to have a regular supply as gifts - a very special present of 10 nights of deep sleep after a bath with one of these, and a gift I truly appreciate. But I am trying to find out where they are sold, just in case I ever run out.

To me, these bath tablets are the essence of relaxation. Creating a deep blue lagoon out of my bathtub, with their rich, spicy, seaside scent, this is the perfect relaxation after a stressful day. With the ginseng they are both relaxing and reviving, and these salts also leave my skin really soft, and the bubbling of the tablets is great for aching muscles. It's a little weird at first to be relaxing in a bathtub without bubbles, but as almost every bubble bath I have used react with my skin, it's a change I'm happy to have got used to.
I suspect these were the predecessors to these big fizzy bath-bombs that have been so trendy for the past few years - essentially bath salts with class. But oh, what class - there's something very posh about these - elegant labelling and classic packaging which will perk up your bathroom decor, plus a real quality product. Each tablet comes sealed in it's own little package within the box, so there's no worries about them loosing their oomph in a steamy bathroom.
I've never seen them in Boots or Superdrug, leading me to suspect they're coming from some 'boutique' or department store. I am lucky enough to have a regular supply as gifts - a very special present of 10 nights of deep sleep after a bath with one of these, and a gift I truly appreciate. Knowing I have these waiting at home is my safety valve on really tough days. I'm normally more of a shower person, but sometimes, only a bath will do the trick. Physical exertion, stress or an emotionally fraught situation: nothing makes it past these little miracle workers. A hot bath, a few candles, and one of these concentrated tablets dropped in the water under my back, massaging me with the bubbles - stress, what's stress?
The scent is unusual - spicy with something of the seaside about it - and quite strong. Not overpowering while you are in the bath, but it does linger on your skin. To me that's a positive, as I tend to use this to wind down before bed, but if you were about to go out, you might find that the scent would fight your perfume.
Despite the vivid colour that these tablets turn the water, they're very gentle on the skin, and are surprisingly moisturising. I'm wary of many bath products, as too many chemicals plus hot water can be a very drying combination. Itchy skin is not what I'm looking for in a relaxing bath, but these do a great job of pampering both body and mind. Sort of the anti-Red Bull I guess!
Could be hard to get hold of, but highly recommended if you ever do come accross them - the best relaxing bath treat I've ever used by a long way, better then Lush, better than anything else you can buy.
Advantages: Soaks away all your stresses and strains, beautiful herbal fragrance Disadvantages: None
I Coloniali is described as "a luxurious collection of indulging body and bath treats designed to create a synergy between mind, body and spirit. They are formulated with natural oriental ingredients, recognised for centuries for their cleansing and healing properties. I first tried I Coloniali products after finding them in a local department store and I have been hooked on these tablets and their whole range ever since. In the words of another product - they do exactly what it says on the tin! They usually come in a 25g (10 tablet pack) and the packaging of all the products is really beautiful, very organic and natural. As is the product. I can actually buy them from a small chemist in my ...
