Coriander

Advantages: Inexpensive and home grown
Disadvantages: None

***INTRO*** At a loss as for what to do this Saturday evening I decided to check out the ciao product selection and review something (sad eh). Herbs & spices come up as a possibility. ***A BROWSE OF THE INTERNET PRODUCED SOME FACTS*** DESCRIPTION - it is an annual with erect stems, 1 - 3 ft high, slender and branched. The flowers a shortly storked umbels, 5 - 10 rays, pale mauve, almost white. The seeds fall as soon as ripe. The plant is bright green, shining, glabrous & intensely foetid (see picture below). HABITAT - Indigenous to S.Europe and grown in Britain. Found wild in fields & waste places (mainly east England). Hide by Lisa Gardner

Advantages: Good pace and twists
Disadvantages: Previous book means not all characters explored fully

I hadn't read any of Lisa Gardner's books before but had heard of her so when I saw she had a few in the library I picked up one that sounded good and wasn't too big to fit in my bag. The story is about a woman called Annabelle Granger who had spent most of her life on the run, as her father made the family move from place to place changing aliases throughout her childhood until eventually they ended up back in their hometown of Boston and her father died. One morning Annabelle opens the paper and discovers that she has been declared dead, her body found in an underground chamber along with five other young girls. Annabelle goes to the police where she meets Detective Bobby Dodge and Sergeant DD Warren. Bobby is new to working with the Boston police as he used to be a police sniper but due to events in the past he has changed ...

Review of Hide - Lisa Gardner

Last night I dreamt that Sally Beauman shouldn't have bothered!!

Advantages: ERm the picture on the front was prettr
Disadvantages: The whole book

REBECCA?S TALE Sally Beauman. "Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again." Beauman had the audacity to start her novel with these words, the same words that du Maurier started her classic ?Rebecca? with. I fear that ?Rebecca?s Tale? will never be deemed a classic. The book is set in 1951 and it is the 20th anniversary of the death of Rebecca de Winter. The premise of it is that we learn more about Rebecca and the details of her background as well as that of Max, Jack Favel, Mrs. Danvers, Colonel Julyan and even Manderley As you plough through the 600+ pages you are introduced to Rebecca's hatred and contempt for men, and the reasons why. Also how she had vigilantly selected her lovers, making sure they bore a resemblance to Max, so that should she fall pregnant, the child could easily be passed off as ...
