Advantages Your team gets the momentum it needs to out work the opposition
Disadvantages teaches younger children violence about the sport
How do you create a game changer in hockey? Your team is down 3-2 midway through the 3rd period. Your team is being heavily out shot and out chanced. How do you find the momentum to score that equalizer? In my opinion you send out the goons and take on their tough guy. Drop the mitts and begin to dual! This courageous act will end in two ways. Your team's tough guy will go toe to toe and win the fight, and the arena will erupt giving you (your team) the momentum it needs. OR your tough guy loses the fight and now your team is really worried. In my own experience there is nothing more energetic than when your team wins a good fight. In my opinion that's how you create a game changing moment in the wonderful game of hockey!
