A very mixed bag of a Microwave.
Review of Sharp R953 by

Advantages: fantastic "Auto Cook" facillity (see review),full combination functions, an awful lot of choice.
Disadvantages: You will certainly need the instructions-which are poor(!),oven times etc inaccurate, possible to undercook, terribly difficult to clean.
...I purchased a Sharp R955 Microwave back in 2002 from Iceland in Wolverhampton for £249.95 and took out the Iceland Appliance Care for five years. I purchased it because I needed to upgrade my previous microwave which was a Panasonic dual micro/grill so that I could use a Microwave instead of using a gas cooker-most of my food is frozen. So the appeal of cooking from frozen certainly appealed.
The R953 is a a Catergory E 900w microwave with a grill and a convection fan oven. As it is a "combination" it can be set either manually or automatically to cook food using the microwave/grill and oven-hence the term combination. It has a stainless steel interior, two removable wire shelves and a large cermaic plate.
A stand for grilling Chicken Joints etc is also supplied.
The Oven has settings for 250 C, 230 C,200 C,180 C,160 C,
130 C,100...

A bit of a show piece that works a charm.
Review of Britannia K7088ASC-100 by
pirategrrl
Advantages: ASC is very cool, looks good, nice lighting.
Disadvantages: Low positon.
...As soon as someone mentioned to me a about cooker hood with Automatic Sensor Controls, I thought, that's sounds interesting. I sought out the Britannia ASC and ordered it online. The delivery is big. My hood arrived on a palate and the box itself is huge. The delivery stipulates checking on arrival so it was unpacked in the front (we needed to do this anyway to get it into the house).
This hood needs three people to fit it as it is very heavy. My house is a small 3 bedroom semi and I designed my kitchen so the kitchen diner would be split into two by means of an island cooker hood over an oven and hob.
Overall, I am more pleased with the appearance than I thought I would be, as from the photographs the hood looks bulky and a bit old fashioned. In reality, I believe it has more durability style-wise, than the contempary glass...

Low energy Frost Free
Review of Kyoto KU 9577 by
nickburr
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...I looked around for ages for a large frost-free freezer that had a good energy rating. Most of them are really expensive to run unless you get a second mortgage to buy a Bosch!
Iceland's Kyoto range is endorsed by Greenpeace for being energy efficient, for 350 guid I thought I would give one a go. We've had ours for nearly a year now and it's worked faultlessly and has no frost build up at all. The build quality isn't quite up to German standards but it's solid enough and certainly does the job. The only problem I really have is keeping it well stocked because it's huge inside and takes a lot of filling up....
