I’m not a big fan of the hustle bustle of the city, I like things nice and quiet, but it seems that in the years since I have grown up times have changed, some for the better and some not so. In fact it almost feels as though time itself has changed, its quicker, it seems to be in a hurry to get somewhere yet it doesn’t seem to know where that somewhere is.

And so time plays it’s little tricks on you and you begin to believe that it is indeed going faster that it did in the olden days when things seemed so much more sedate. I think this is more evident on the roads, where getting from A to B seems to be of the utmost priority for a lot of drivers, and as a wise member of Ciao ( Torr ) once commented on one of my reviews “B” is indeed an over-rated destination. So why are we in such a hurry to get there.

Most days my trip into work is uneventful and generally boring, since I now know the road blindfold, and so do some other drivers who apparently drive as if they are blindfold. So I’d like to invent something to win over the tedium and boredom of getting to and from work. Some kind of teleport would obviously be quicker but then this would add to the illusion or indeed fact that time is getting quicker. Pretty much anything which misses the traffic congestion would be quicker, I’m not looking for instantaneous travel since on the whole I do like driving. I’ve seen my invention in cartoons; it works a treat and does a super job. It would impress all other drivers who would be astounded at my ingenuity and overall larger brain.

So what is it? Well it’s a simple device, which would elevate your car above the rest allowing safe and easy overtaking. It might be a simple mechanism, which widens the wheel width and lifts the car so you can traverse over all other cars. It might even be some kind of quick flight thingy whereby you lift go forward and land without any hassle or risk of accident. It’s not that I’m in such a hurry to get to work; it’s just that even though time does seem to be quicker there are still some people who insist on goings backwards instead of forwards.

I’m not very keen on all this palaver of being first, but it would seem that time does play tricks, and is quite persuasive in her efforts to make everything quicker. There was I saying I preferred the olden days when things were sedate, yet here I am ranting on about getting somewhere quicker with a stupid invention, so she has changed my point of view, and even if she hadn’t I would still have to keep up with everyone else in order to get to “B” or indeed to survive. I would of course since my perceptions have obviously changed like to use this device to get home quicker, because at home things aren’t quite as fast and are a bit more like the olden days.

I guess in the end whether you think time is getting faster or not, whether your getting older too fast or not is irrelevant, since if old father time decides it’s getting quicker then quicker it will get.
