Iguana Direct failed to deliver - very poor communication

Disadvantages Complete lack of communication; wasted my time
I ordered a new fridge-freezer from this company as they had a very good price for the product I wanted, promised reasonably quick delivery and had good reviews from other customers on this website. I have been very disappointed. I placed the order on their website and was informed in the confirmation email that they would contact me within one working day to advise the delivery date. They contacted me fairly promptly (two working days later) to tell me that there was a problem with the supplier and they would call again in a week's time to advise the delivery date. I then heard nothing for two weeks, and when I finally called them to find out what what happening, they said "Oh yeah, we were going to call you as we now can't supply this item." I note that this product is still listed on their website.
I was also unhappy to find that payment was taken from my card at the time of order, when they already knew that there could be a problem delivering the item. In my view payment should not have been taken until they were sure they could deliver.I accept that things sometimes go wrong, but this company made absolutely no effort to keep me informed when a problem arose and have completely wasted my time. I now have to start again with a new supplier and hope for rather better service.
