Iiyama - a name to trust

Advantages: Quality, design
Disadvantages: Price

Thanks in advance for reading this and I hope it helps you in making a purchasing decision. Over a decade ago I was a poor student shopping for my first ever PC. I knew what I wanted - a 486 processor running at 25MHz, 8Mb RAM, 200Mb harddrive and most importantly an Iiyama 14" monitor. Sadly the wages department of the hotel restaurant I worked through that long and tedious summer dictated a few small changes. The PC eventually became a 386 processor running at 40MHz, 4Mb RAM, 120Mb harddrive and no Iiyama monitor. Instead of the Iiyama I had some rebadged monitor with a huge curve and a low refresh rate. The Iiyama was the first thing to drop off the list as it saved the most money. My point? Even then Iiyama was synonymous with quality and of design and product. The Cathode Ray montiors they produced then had an appropriately ...

Review of Iiyama Pro Lite E380S

IIyama vision master pro 1413 17"

Advantages: Price, quality, reliability
Disadvantages: Not for advanced and demanding users

1 IIyama is definitely one of most recognized and respected both CRT and LCD manufacturer,( for Windows and Macintosh) and that places it above other producers on market because of it's expirience, and japanese origin. Sometimes people say that company that is focused on one specific item makes better stuff and if it comes about IIyama i can fully agree. External look IIyama vision master pro 1413 17" is simple monitor without addons like speakers or tv tuner and is available in cream (white) color ( some other models comes in black or silver ). Unusual design creates a picture of massive and solid construction and reminds me an oval cut in half. Monitor is put together very well, all joints fits perfectly. Even being a low budget product still looks as new; plastics used to assebble are rather good quality and have ...

Review of Iiyama Vision Master Pro 1413

Iiyama Vision Master Pro 513

Advantages: Huge picture
Disadvantages: Huge footprint

I chose this particular make of monitor for two reasons. Firstly, I have a friend who chooses Iiyama for his web design business and he was singing their praises. They produce a stable and detailed image suitable for professional use so that was a good start. Secondly, I wanted a really large monitor for PC games and this one's a whopper. It's a 22". The latest releases with their tremendous detail and realism come to life on this massive screen. DVDs seem perfectly clear. One thing I noticed on this monitor that I hadn't experienced before was the loud and clunky way it selects it's screen resolution for games and at certain other times. I'm used to that now but I thought it worth mentioning. The degauss function is easy to find when you work out the menus and identify how to operate it but a simple button marked, 'degauss ...
