I bought the Ikea Mammut table and two matching chairs for our little nephew to sit at and use when he stays over with us.
The Mammut table comes in 3 different colours; light pink, light green and light blue. And it comes in 2 different sizes; the light green is available in an 85cm diameter round table (which is £25.99), and the light pink and light blue are available in a 77cm x 55cm rectangular table (which are £21.99). We bought the round light green table. Although we only bought two chairs to go with the table, it will easily fit four chairs around it.
I guess that my only gripe with the table is that you can't get all 3 colours in both sizes, we did originally want the round table but in blue, but the blue is only available in the rectangular size, so we had to settle for the round table in green.
The table does require some self assembly, but it only takes around 10 minutes to put it together. You literally just screw some double ended screws into the table legs, and then screw the table legs onto the underside of the table, finally attach the feet to the legs - done, no tools needed at all.
The Mammut range is made of bright colourful pastic, and is perfect for children. It is really eye catching and kind of cartoon like, but it is also really durable. It is also easy to clean, you just need to wipe it over with a damp cloth. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, at the moment we have only used it indoors as it's the winter, but I'm sure that it will also get lots of use outdoors come the summer time.
The table is plenty big enough for arts and crafts and making things. It is also fairly lightweight and so it is easy to move around the house if you need to position it elsewhere. It is too heavy at the moment for our little nephew to move around. It does get a lot of use by our little nephew, he sits and draws or paints, or sits and makes things. Occasionally I let him sit and eat his lunch at the table, normally dinosaur shaped sandwiches!
The table is really stable and sturdy and is the perfect size for little people to sit at, the matching chairs slot underneath and fit perfectly.
Overall I actually love this, it gets a lot of use, it seems to be brilliant quality for the money, and it looks really funky. More importantly I guess our little nephew loves having his own little table and chairs at our house.
