OK., before we start.. first thing to note is that Tundra Flooring is a laminate flooring and NOT real wood.
Technical details: You can buy them from Ikea and they are ONLY delivered in packs. Each pack weighs 15 kgs and contains 9 planks. You can cover 2.39 sq. mts (25.8 sq.ft) with one pack. Each plank measures 138 cm x 19.3 cm; now you can make an approximate calculation of many planks or packs you would need to cover you floor. You will also get a guide sheet of how to lay the floor.
Cost: When we bought the Tundra flooring there was a discount on all laminate flooring from Ikea. Hence, we got it a £15 per pack. You should always buy one pack more than what is necessary just to allow that human error.
Tools and extra material needed to lay the floor: There is a Fixa laminate floor laying kit available from Ikea and is pretty simple to use. You will also need plastic sheeting (also available at Ikea and is called Sparra sheeting) to be laid on concrete floors as a moisture barrier. Over the plastic sheeting, we will also need floor lining (available as Niva at Ikea) to be laid which is useful for levelling the floor, sound absorption and also insulation. Once these two things are put in place, we should lay the Tundra flooring on top. Ok, after the laminate flooring is also placed, we will need Edgings and Skirting boards to cover the gaps. Other tools necessary for laying the floor include, pencil, measure scale, tape, hammer and saw. All these are outined in the guide that comes with each pack.
Laying the floor: Laminate flooring can be very easy or very tough depending upon the shape of floor you want to cover. If it is rectangular with not much irregular edges, it is very simple and straight forward. On the other hand, if you have to work around difficult shapes then it can be very tedious and time consuming. In our case, the rooms very more or less rectangular so it was not a problem.
There is no necessity for any type of glue, staples, nails, or cementitious compounds. Each plank is simply clicked into one another by something called Click-Lock method.
A helpful tip for having maximum effect of the Tundra flooring is to lay it in the direction of light coming into the house. That means, the longest sides of the planks should be perpendicular (90 degrees) to the window.
The Tundra flooring really gives you a old rustic look and is ideal for living rooms, hall ways, bedrooms. But like the instructions, Tundra flooring is not for wet areas. Hence, it is not suitable for bathrooms or kitchens. Also, one thing we noticed is that the flooring surface needs to be as even as possible without bumps and downs. Otherwise, the planks break at the joints.
We were pleasantly surprised at the success of our flooring project because this was our first DIY flooring project. It was so easy that we actually felt there was something missing in our work.
It is more than 2 years that we have laid our Tundra flooring and we are very happy with the result. It is every easy to maintain and clean. Simply take a damp cloth and wipe.
I recommend Tundra flooring to all laminate flooring aspirants. Good luck!

Enjoyed the review, my hubby is not brave enough to try to lay the flooring himself so our builder is doing it all. We're just getting the corridor done as I prefer having carpet in the bedrooms and living room. I have sworn off Ikea since we had a real shambles of a purchase last year and their customer services just didn't deliver for us. x
