3 1/2" floppy discs have been around for a long time. These discs have provided us all with simple and easy storage for a wide range of files still around today. Despite this, they only hold small amounts of storage compared to the different types of storage devices around.

Floppy discs have provided lots of information at quick disposal for all types of computer. This ranges from the desktop pc on the market today, all the way to early computing machines such as the amega systems. Amongst these discs, Imation has provided fast access to a wide range of different files of information.

There isn't a lot to write about on a floppy disc, but Imation discs are branded, and do have their own pro's and cons. Like most floppy discs, they hold 1.44 mb of storage. Discs have been known to hold as low as 720 kb and up to 2.88 mb of storage. So the capacity is about average of a floppy disc. They are quick to respond with so little capacity and stable to use. There have been problems with lost information from strong magnets near the discs. These can be from the VDU (visual display unit) or speakers at the workstation, or even from other places in the house/office.

Overall, the floppy disc is ideal for word documents or possible a few pictures from the digital camera.
