...the leading edge LTO tapes have a small spring loaded "door" at the side through which the tape is dispensed into the drive. So unlike your videos, which spool from one side to the other, this is spun out in one long line and then rewound. I could be totally wrong but Fuji and the other manufacturers are a little obscure on this!
Enough of that anyway; what do you do with them?
You copy your ever so precious data onto it. Now I'm willing to bet a penny to an LTO drive that your data isn't worth £3000+. Nope, didn't think so.
But for business it is. Frequently it's worth a lot more than that.
Your average home user will NEVER need this much storage capacity. Each tape has a native (I.E. Uncompressed) capacity of 200GB. Most home PCs don't even have hard drives that big. Compress the data and you can get a theoretical capacity of 400GB...

Advantages: versatile and an excellent performer Disadvantages: built quality
...to use the touch screen when dialing numbers but better to use the keyboard when sending text messages.Overall a great experience when using the phone features and texting. 9/10
Camera-
This is an adequate feature but will not give the highest quality pictures that you will find from a stand-alone camera.with the large TFT screen using this feature is easy and you can vary light setting to help get the best results, but you will be able to tell these are pictures from a phone but still a nice feature to have. 7/10
Memory-
THe imate takes the mini sd card format and you can use cards which can have up to 4gb of memory which will allow you to save a massive amount of pictures and music to your device. The imate doesnt come with a memory card so you will definently need to purchase one to maximise the features of this product. 9...

Advantages: Big and FAST Disadvantages: None come to mind......
...This is the second Lacie drive I've purchased, the former being a 120Gb d2 drive. This newer 400Gb drive features USB2 and firewire 400/800 connections allowing for connection to the more standard newer interfaces. I use a firewire 400 connection.
After looking at all the similar disks of different sizes, this model seemed the best for the price per Gig.....and this disk is fast! I use it on a windows 2K box, and it performs very well, and has not even been turned off for about 3 months. 3D animations stream off this incredibly fast, and the bottleneck if any would appear to be how fat the actual computer can deal with the data. I havent tested it, but I've heard that firewire 800 can be very cpu intensive....always best to get a good quality interface card to try and offload work from the main CPU.
Lacie do bigger disks...
