GAMEPLAY The game starts very slowly and is hard to pass the first few hours of play. But once you do, you unlock more cars and more upgrades. There are a lot of rivals, so it feels that one section of road isn't enough, especially as you will only ever see up to 4 or 5 racers on a section of road. This means you have to enter your garage and leave again. This can become frustrating if you are only looking for 1 or 2 people that you need to beat in order to unlock a new area. The races can be very slow, particularly if you have similarly powered cars. The aim of a race, or SP (Spirit Points) Battle, is to drain your opponents SP by getting in front of them. The further you are in front, the quicker their SP drains. Simple. Whilst you are driving around a certain area of motorway you can pull into a PA (Parking Area). From here you can challenge yet more opponents, to a Chain Battle where you have to beat a sequence of opponents one after another, or a Gang Battle where you are in a SP Battle, but with more than one opponent. In your garage there is a list of all your opponents. When you beat someone, they will be crossed off the list. The list also shows you what time of day your rivals drive and what area of road they drive on. The amount of traffic on the road is not significant, but then you are driving in the late/early hours of the day. The customization of the cars is realistic and not over the top. Prices for certain upgrades can be very expensive and drain you money, but by the time you have unlocked them you should be winning enough money from your races. As well as the Quest Mode, there is a Time Trial mode where you have to complete the area of specified road under the given time. There is another Time Trial mode which is meant for online and compares your time with the other people who set times.
GRAPHICS/SOUND The graphics are reasonable but could definitely be better. The scenery is bleak and dull. The sense of speed is only good in the faster cars but can still be improved. The sound of the cars is, let's say, benchmark and could have been worked on more than they have.
ONLINE PLAY The online side of things are very quiet. When you go online you will only stand a chance of just putting up a good fight if you have a well equipped car, as the only people who play online have completed Quest Mode and have fully upgraded cars. This means that, unless you have a friend to race with, you wont be able to win any races. Most of the time there is no one online anyway and a 'Unable to find session' notice comes up.
Overall, if you can get passed the early part of the game you will probably be able to finish the game. However it can be very repetitive.
