In my Christmas stocking this year from my mother in law, I got a nice little can of Impulse Temptation Body Spray, which I have to say I would not have normally bought for myself.
As many of you no doubt are aware Impulse have been around for a long a time, well who can remember the crummy adverts that go years back? I do, they always seemed to give off the impression that any female who chose one of the many varieties of Impulse as their signature smell, men would simply fall at their feet.
Well I have been keeping this slender 75ml aluminium spray canister in my desk drawer at work now for a few weeks, it’s an ideal size for carrying around in your handbag too, being about 6 inches in height with a circular diameter of about one inch.
Impulse canisters come in many different colours, each colour is designed to match whichever scent it contains within, the Temptation in particular is an inviting rose colour with a clever little twist and aerosol spray lid.
I have continued to wear my usual Soft and Gentle anti perspirant, but as I am back on the dreaded cigarettes, Impulse is ideal to cover up the nasty stale smell of nicotine. Although the manufacturers recommend to keep canister 15cm away from body and simply spray, I personally prefer a little squirt around me, I then walk through the scent, I am careful not spray directly on my clothing for fear of damage.
The scent is very pleasant, not too overpowering, almost like a fresh floral rosewater scent, not too sweet, it reminds me of Coty La’maint, I wouldn’t describe the scent as sexy and I certainly have not encountered any men chasing me through Royal Exchange Square or Central Station to hand me flowers
The canister says spraying Impulse gives you a cool, fresh feeling and leaves you feeling revitalised, gently fresh and fragranced. I will agree with most of that except for feeling revitalised, I waited patiently but to no avail, I felt exactly the same apart from the fact I didn’t smell of stale tobacco but of flowers.
The scent does last very well, so brownie points there, at least a couple of hours and even then I can usually still smell the delicate fragrance of Impulse Temptation.
I believe you can purchase these from Boots, Superdrug and even supermarkets for around £1.49 each.
I would recommend Impulse to keep handy to cover up those nasty whiff’s that may surround you but I would maybe try another variety.
