Advantages: Organic terry is lovely and snuggly :) You can use more than one at a time to boost absorbancy Disadvantages: Need a tight fitting wrap to hold in place, fannel won't nippa and the organic terry isn't snag-proof

There is no elastication in these nappies, so they need to be used with a tight fitting cover. They can be a little tricky to fold around your baby once they become a wriggler. I've found they work well in most covers, but prefer to use them with a velcro-fastening one. Because of the lack of elastication we needed a couple more covers in newborn and small as they often got the poo as well - but as the covers never leaked this was the least of our problems. They are very adjustable (so can be made to suit most children) and extremely hard wearing so they will do more than one child. They retain their value well and we sold some of ours on for between 60 and 80 percent of their retail value.
These nappies are stocked by most of the nappy sellers.
Advantages: nice slim fit for a newborn, quick drying, inexpensive Disadvantages: needs a gusseted wrap to prevent leg leaks, not super absorbent
Imse Vimse is a Swedish made nappy. It is a shaped nappy, and I received one to try to see how I got on. I found the flannelette version I recieved to be very slim fitting, and as there is no Velcro or Aplix on it, it was either pin it or fold it up inside a snug fitting wrap as a nippa (a new gadget you use instead of pins) won't grip smooth fabric. I don't use pins, so I found a Prorap brand wrap works especially well with this nappy as the legs ... ...having more uses later. The Imse Vimse does dry relatively quickly however, so is an option to consider if you do not have a dryer.
Imse Vimse is available from many online stores and often can be hired to try out. Mine came from Plushpants.co.uk, and they also carry most of the popular nappy types, as well as a hire scheme. I have also seen them on UKParents Nappy Buy and Sell forum, which is an excellent place to get nappies to try before you ...

Advantages: Quick dying, soft, brith to potty Disadvantages: slightly more expensive, can only be used with shaped wraps.
I bought these nappies as an extra to my other shaped nappies which are made of bamboo and therefore take some time to dry. However, I regularly reach for these even when I have the bamboo ones clean and dry.
As they are a one size nappy they are easy to adjust as babe gets bigger, and the elasticated legs keep any leakage in. They can be a little bit fiddly as baby starts wiggling as you need to hold the nappy in place as you are fixing the outer wrap but once fixed, they offer one of the sleekest fits as reusable nappies go, which can be somewhat bulky.
As there is no fixing on the nappy, rather being held in place by the wrap, they can only be used with shaped wraps, and due to the difficulties with wriggling babies, I would advise velcro fixed wraps to make life easier
They have an inner flap which can be folded to provide extra ...
