My little toy!! Advantages: impressive, excellent features Disadvantages: quite expensive but well worth it! ...came across this little beauty...the Kenwood KVT M707 DVD Player. Firstly I can't comment on the installation procedure of this product as this was done by someone else, but i was very impressed when i first turned it on! For starters, it has a lovely sliding mechanism operated by a single button, after which you are presented with your main screen. There are a few options, Standby, Tuner, DVD, Video etc - all very self explanatory. The whole system ... ...that you can purchase the Kenwood Satellite Navigation, which I have done so and this operates amazingly! A really good way to incorporate radio, cd and sat nav which looks very impressive on the big screen! inCarDVD - thats right! DVD's...in your CAR! Advantages: reliable and good quality Disadvantages: expensive and the magic wears off! hehehe The Sony Xplod is a lovely little gadget in its own rights. It was one of the first in car players and i can remember thinking it was so cool to have one in my dads car. It is reliable. Suprisingly, it doesnt skip or jump at all. The screen is pretty decent. Sometimes the sun outside can prevent you from seeing the screen clearly but we got hold of those shade things you can put on your windon. Little did i know, the novelty of this amazing gadget ... ...for someone whos whole family travels, say weekly from Birmingham to London. However, for people who dont travel so much in cars this thing is quite a waste of money. I remember when i got mine, it cost a fortune. These days, they are much cheaper and probably much more durable and high quality and you can get dual screen players as well. One down side in this specific version is that the speaker volume is not great for many films. High qual A/V for double DIN owners Advantages: Extremely high value for $, add-ons, excellent a/v quality, JVC=solid equipment Disadvantages: Minor additions would make this a world beater, add-ons are expensive, no navigation available ...so no worries - just JVC and professional installers understandably avoiding tort litigation. The digital EQ function is very nice - I see no need for an external EQ at any level of audiophile outside of competition - about a dozen presets plus 3 user defined sets. Overall this unit truly shines. The menu system is very straightforward and offers plethora options. Observation: if your in dash positioning will tilt the display upward, glare during ... ...There's not much JVC could do about that, just a word to the wise. On my wishlist: While playing music, you could set a folder on the SD from which to scroll pics or video. Ability to watch USB video on the head unit while the remote displays show DVD vid using dual mode - as it is now when the DVD is playing in Dual Zone, you can listen to the stereo from the dash and possibly satellite (which I have little desire to purchase).
