Reviews which might be of interest for In Vogue": The Illustrated History of the World's Most Famous Fashion Magazine - Alberto Oliva, Norberto Angeletti
Advantages: It Brings Back Many Memories. Some Forgotten Rare Cars Here. Interesting Cutaway Drawings. Disadvantages: Dreadfully Repetitious. Annoying Mid-Atlantic Terminology. Many Unfair Entries. Superficial Text.
..., didn't mean to shout - their capitals not mine!
I parted with my £4.99 for two reasons, primarily, that having flicked through it I knew that I would have fun reviewing this book, and secondly that it contained many cars from my formative motoring years, the 70's and early 80's.
WHAT THE PUBLISHER SAYS
Please note: I have copied this verbatim, the cover of the book clearly contains the word "THE" in the title, there is another book by an entirely different author with the following title. The description is however of the book being reviewed - all errors are the publisher's - not mine!
"World's Worst Cars
The annals of motoring history are riddled with heroic failures, duds and disasters. The World's Worst Cars takes a detailed look at these motoring tragedies - old and new - and asks: Why did they ever reach the showrooms...

Advantages: Superb Illustrations. Definitive Text. My Favourite - if not the Best Book on this Subject. Disadvantages: A Slightly Predictable Read!
..., in spite of its' coffee table glossiness, as pretty much the definitive work on the subject.

Advantages: Few and far between Disadvantages: Buyer beware!
...When I ordered this book I thought: "Great! This is really going to be fun! A book called 'Lost Histories'! The full title intrigued me even more. 'Exploring the World's MostFamous Mysteries'.
Sadly, this book by Joel Levy (published by Vision Paperbacks at £10.99) really did disappoint me.
The book is divided into five blocks. Not actually chapters, but rather blocks. These are:
Lost Places, Lost Artefacts Lost Treasure, Lost People and lost Wrecks.
This is where the book starts to fall down. Each story is divided up into sections with irritating horizontal black lines. The problem is that Levy and his designers use the same horizontal black lines to divide each individual story, so there is room for confusion. It is easy -and very irritating- to find that you had accidentally strayed into an entirely different story...
