Review of "Independence National Historical Park, Philadelphia"
The Independence National Historical Park which is part of the Old Arts district and sometimes referred to as centre city is set in around 45 acres and houses most of Philadelphia's important historic sights, such as The Liberty Bell exhibit, and Independence Hall, where both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were created, (Also one of the scenes in the recent movie 'National Treasure' with Nicholas Cage). The park also depicts the events and the lives of the population during the years when Philadelphia was the capital city of the United States around 1790 to 1800 (I think). If you have any questions there is always a National Park warder to answer them, and they are friendly and very knowledgable in American history.
A part of the park is the site where Benjamin Franklin lived where there now stands a museum dedicated to his life and works, as well as housing the cemetary where he is buried along with many other historical figures from the USA's past.As well as there being no shortage of places of interest to visit within the park it is also very close to the Old Arts district where numerous galleries and restaurants can be enjoyed. As well as being a kicking place to visit at night at the weekend.
An absolute must if you are in Philadelphia, without a doubt the most under-rated city in the USA.
