Since we purchased this product in September 2006 the Fridge compartment has failed 3 times! Engineers have to tried to repair it on each occasion, but about 6 months later (or less) it failed with the same problem.

As a result, cold air is not being directed in to the Fridge compartment.
Indesit/Hotpoint have a new policy (late 2007) that you have to pay an engineer callout fee of about £100 if a previously repaired part has failed again within a 12 month warranty period. If the engineer finds that the part 'has' failed again, then you are entitled to a full refund, but if not, you are lumbered with a callout fee, labour charge and parts cost! What happens if the engineer keeps trying different parts until he finds the root cause of the problem? I'm definitely going to think twice about buying anything from Indesit/Hotpoint.
It is a roomy fridge/freezer ideal for a family at reasonable price. If it didn't fail so much I would have given it a star rating of 4 out of 5. And, I would have given it 5 out of 5 if the drawers in the Freezer compartment wouldn't jam so easily. If the drawers aren't pushed in perfectly square they jam!

This is a very good family fridge freezer. Good large salad drawers and easy to use storage spaces in the door. The door has deep capacity for bottles. Door is self closing which helps to keep the temperature constant in the fridge.Freezer has kept frost free and the controls are clear and easy to use.
Freezer drawers were supplied with a devive to make and store ice cubes without having to balance an ice tray
Only draw back is the lack of flexibilty in shelf levels in the fridge. ...
