Advantages: Good value, good variety of washing programmes, energy efficient Disadvantages: Noisy, unimpressive manual, long wash cycles, unreliable
...UPDATE on reliability at the end, but a quick synopsis is "don't buy an Indesit washing machine".
This is the third Indesit washing machine I have owned which may be considered stupid – why have I needed three and why did I even consider a third?
It’s not all doom and gloom. The first one, I sold to a friend, as the second one was on offer and had more functions and a faster spin speed. Nine years later the second one started to play up, not always spinning properly. I commented on PhilRoots’ Hoover washing machine opinion that mine would not last much longer, but I didn’t actually expect to be ordering a new one only 2 weeks later having mopped the floor about 20 times that week. I couldn’t complain – it had given me nine long years of good service.

...After 18 months my WD12X Indesit washing machine gave up the ghost, a repairman came, took one look at it, and said, it's an Indesit, they're always going wrong, it's not worth repairing. Searching on the web rapidly confirmed that indeed Indesit washing machines are always going wrong. To add insult to injury, my Indesit cooker (also 18 months old) went wrong the same week, which cost £60 to repair, and my Indesit diswasher is giving me cause for concern too. Indesit offered the usual fob off excuses you would expect, and in short showed no concern for the fact their machines break down so shortly after the guarantee expires. My advice, avoid Indesit like the bubonic plague, their machines are a waste of money....

...A few years back we got a fitted kitchen so of course (and i can see women nodding in agreement here) you need to have new appliances to complete the look. Not being able to stretch to inbuilt appliances we looked around for freestanding models. It was then i happened upon a fab deal on indesit appliances, in fact the deal was the washing machine, a tumble dryer (condenser dryer) and a dishwasher which i will review just shortly. I did some research on the internet, and finally decided to go for it. Purchased them from iceland and everything went smoothly, delivered promptly and unpacked. The washing machine has a plastic footplate thing on the bottom and it didnt seem to be clipping on at one side, after a quick phone call to indesit they sent a replacement bit straight away, so well done indesit already, (the plastic bit isnt...

The Indesit Moon is, as far as kitchen appliances go, a thing of beauty. Whilst I know deep down that it is very very wrong to like a washing machine this much, darn it, I just can't help myself!
