In memory of Mothers Day......

In the U.K., you are timely reminded of various dates like Christmas, Valentines Day, and then Mothers Day etc to send gifts or flowers. Personally I always look forward to send my mother something as mothers can so easily be taken for granted and let's be honest there's nothing like receiving fresh flowers. Being based in U.K. I'd normally chose a U.K or preferably a Jersey based company like flowersbypost. However, last year I wanted to send flowers to my mother who was on holiday in India. My favourite company flowersbypost who are excellent on price and freshness for roses, carnations, etc., do not deliver beyond Northern Europe. My first thought was use Interflora who have a worldwide network but are also huge on price! For example to send flowers in India using Interflora firstly there is not much choice and secondly the cheapest price is £32.64 plus another £6.99 for delivery making a grand total of just less than £40.00. So I'm glad I'd stumbled across an advert for indiaflowerdeliveries.com on the well-known reachouthyderabad site, which is an excellent resourceful site to find out anything about anything in Hyderabad! After further research, I decided to use indiaflowerdeliveries.com for my order, which had prices at just a fraction of Interflora or any other standard UK or Jersey company.

After browsing the clear and easy to use website which was not cluttered I found the flowers I was interested it in; roses of course! In India, they have the most beautiful, fresh, and fragrant roses that I couldn't resist ordering. The site offers flowers or a combination of flowers plus a cake or sweets. I opted for a dozen red rose and a 1kg pineapple fresh cream cake. My total order cost Rs. 900 Indian rupees including delivery, which in Sterling pounds is about £12. The company doesn't charge any extra my credit card was charged approximately £12 after the goods were delivered. Most UK credit cards have some small charge 2.75% for foreign transactions or a minimum amount, which you may find, included in the conversion, but with the cost of the flowers, so cheap I assure you will not notice that! The only request I had is that the red roses and cake be as fresh as possible and they deliver in the morning. I got an immediate acknowledgement via e-mail with my order number and details. It's worth mentioning when entering your card details ensure you quote the correct billing address so it matches the one stated for the card you are using. Another useful feature of the site is a currency converter so you can establish the cost of your order in your local currency. I am really impressed with the ordering process at this company as you're really kept informed of the process each step of the way. I got a second e-mail a day before delivery confirming they had my order requirements and that it would be delivered according to my instructions. On the day of delivery I got a confirmatory e-mail stating: Your Red Roses Bouquet + 1 Kg Pineapple Cake Order to Hyderabad for 6th March has been delivered at 10.30 Am today morning. Now that's what I call service; keeping the customer informed all the time and keeping the promise. Later that morning I called my mother in India and she was so delighted to have received the flowers and cake. I think everyone at the house in India was surprised at how I'd sent her flowers when I was in UK using a local company…that's the advantage of global technology!

A year on since my first order this company is still as competitive as ever. Sadly that was the last time I sent flowers on Mothers Day last year as my Mother is no more...
