As I said before, it's a lot smaller than many of them and is usually relatively quiet, until a huge party of children come along. The whole area is clean and the staff are pleasant and helpful. For parents and carers who want to go in on their own, there are magazines and newspapers to read while the little ones are playing. One of the main attractions is the fact that it is somewhere I would be shopping anyway if I just can't be bothered to face the traffic at the Metro centre- I can do all of my shopping, and than have a coffee while little miss plays with her friends. The activity centre has themed days close to Christmas and Halloween, and sometimes has face painters and entertainers- excellent for drawing... Read review

Advantages: good fun for kids to 12 yrs. Wish adults could have a shot though

...You'll find the centre down at the shore at Prestwick, so on nice days it can be combined with a trip to the seaside. It's about 10 minutes walk from the train station, just take a right and head to the shore - you can't miss it. It is quite reasonable, £2.75 for 2 hours play on off peak times and £3.60 at other times. Most of these places only allow one and a half hours. When we went we were a party of 9 children and 6 adults so we got a special price of £5.75 for 2 hours of play, a buffet of sandwiches, sausages,nuggets, potato faces, crisps as many jugs of juice as we wanted, ice cream, sweets, and a goodie bag going home. The food for the adults is surprisingly good. Lovely sandwiches, paninis, baked potatoes etc and they also do lovely coffee. ...Mushroom activity centre I went to the local charity shop and saw this on sale for £2.00. I investigated it (sat on the floor and pretended I was 1 year old and played with it) I was happy with it so purchased it for my grandson 9 months old. I looked in my Argos catalogue when I got home and found it for sale for £ 9.99p so I was delighted a real bargain. The activity mushroom I bought is a mushroom shaped activity centre suitable for babies aged around 9 months upwards. I expect it will be used until he is 18months to 2 yrs old maybe longer. The stalk of the mushroom is white with a few stickers on it. There is a bright yellow smiley face door on it, which opens easily good for little hands to delve into the interior space. The mushroom cap is coloured red. In the centre top of the toy there is a yellow maggot/ grub... Read review
